Yes, ECPPP recommends replacing all componentsof the timing system at the same time. The useof worn sprockets may cause the chain to fail tomesh with the worn sprockets, resulting in poorengine performance.

Overall the kit worked. The only issue I had was that the front timing chain guide was not machined properly. Had to cut/grind some material off of it. After about 3 -4 tries it fit. Other than that it worked out pretty well.

Overall I was able to get my 2009 colorado back up and running but the new chain guide in the front that is not adjustable would not fit correctly as the casting is slightly thicker causing it not to fit correctly. Luckily I was able to reuse the old chain guide. The customer support link was inactive/ shut down so I was not able to contact them nor was there anyway to contact the seller to resolve this issue which is why I ended up just reusing the old chain guide. Good luck and order this with caution as you won't know if the parts will fit until you have the old stuff off! Everything else fit fine.

My 07 Colorado 2.9L had 199k miles when I replaced the timing chain to correct my P0017 code. Currently 202k still running good. Only replaced the front chain, guide, and sprockets, along with my water pump and thermostat while I was down there. Didn't do the rear, too much work but nice to have come with it I suppose. So far so good.
