Works as advertised BUT it has to be sharpened by the customer. I wish they offered the option of buying it already sharpened, say for $10 more. The metal is thick (good!) but this means getting an edge takes time unless you use an electric tool. BTW, a dremel didn't work.

Based on my first use of this, a few hours ago, I consider it a good buy. It seems ideal for quick jobs where lines have already been defined. I can see it working where the aim is to define or sharpen lines too. My opinion is that the strength of the tool is convenience. My edges will still be maintained mostly via my 2-cyle gas edging machine. I expect that this tool will last long. My only gripe has to do with the length of the pole/handle; I am a little over 6' tall and the handle felt ideally suited to someone shorter. If the handle does fail or become a nuisance, I will replace it with a longer handle.

Every single picture of this toll shows a sharp edge. It is delivered with a flat edge, which performs much poorer.After a brief use - I took this tool to my local Ace, along with some other garden tools that needed sharpening, to have them put an edge on it.Hopefully that works.By comparison - there are other brands of hoes made from heavy duty steel that arrive out of the box sharp enough to shave with at the same price point.
