Eggs don’t separate. Maybe the holes aren’t big enough.

I was a little disappointed in this egg separator. While it does fit fairly well on the lip of bowls it doesn’t do the best job of actually separating whites, you have to shimmy or slosh the holder around to get the whites to drain through. I took a knife and shaved a tad off the holes to widen them a little but that didn’t really help much, still had to slosh the whole egg around. I tried a total of four eggs and one of them had some yolk slide through (due to having to shake the entire holder) while the rest came through well enough. Thankfully I was just making an egg white omelette otherwise it would have been a failure. Overall it’s just okay, a little disappointing.

I was making eggnog for Christmas and had 6 dozen eggs to separate. I put 5 eggs into this separator and started doing the rest by hand. When I was done with the remaining 5 1/2 dozen eggs by hand the 5 eggs were still oozing whites out of the separator.

Once I realized my mistake, I was satisfied with it's effectiveness as a yolk separator. It's a convenient tool in the kitchen for lots of recipes. Good product. Thank you!

It was very easy to use. I use to have to do it the hard way. This makes my cooking so much easier

Initially this was mostly failing for me as other reviewers have mentioned, the whites would hang on underneath the slots, and trying to bang/shake/grab and pull the whites loose broke many yolks. The best technique I found that worked for me is ultimately too much effort compared to draining whites with the original egg shells - after breaking the egg into the separator with the whites stubbornly hanging beneath the separator, tip the separator until the yolk is close to the edge prior to pouring out into the bowl (much of the whites that weren't hanging through the slots will now be spilling over the rim in addition to through the slots), and gently rotate the yolk 360 degrees around the outer rim of the separator for many rotations. That seems to cut the whites hanging through the slots away from the yolk reliably without breaking the yolk, but takes far longer than traditional methods without a tool.

This egg separator is for raw eggs. It is used to separate the yolk from the white of the egg. This is made from plastic and appears well-made and durable. It has a nice, sturdy handle and a bowl clip to keep the egg separator from falling off. To use it, just crack an egg into the egg separator that is resting on a bowl, then the yolk stays inside the egg separator and the white of the egg goes inside the bowl (like a colander). Overall, I really do like this egg separator. I love that it has a bowl clip. Highly recommended.

Easy to clean and I like how it separates the eggs and has the whites in the bowl. Makes it easier for baking
