- Please scrape the rosin with a hard object before use to make sure the rosin can attached to the bow easily;

Rosin for violin bow. We have two beginning fiddler and this rosin does the job. Helps bow grab the strings.

PROSThis is an inexpensive bargain. I am an experienced violinist, and play at an advanced level. I used this rosin just as a temporary stand-in for a few weeks till I could decide on a proper permanent rosin (Jade).It works just fine. If there is a sound issue, it may have more to do with technique than with the rosin brand. There's some dust, but not much. It's formulated as a light rosin, so it's not going to be super sticky. Perfect for beginners or non-picky players. But if you're picky or advanced, you probably won't be reading this review.But it works as intended and the design of the box is a plus. It has the old school wood box with open ends on each side to form a channel for your bow. I always wanted to try that design from childhood. Now that I've tried it, I can check that box and move on.

Bought this for my bird whistle because it was the cheapest rosin I could find. While it's not in powder form which is typically used for bird whistles, it's a solid block, I just spun the metal part of the whistle on it to get as much rosin on it as I could and it worked perfectly. For $2.99 it was a bargain. Can't vouch for the effectiveness of it for musical instruments, but it seems to be a nice solid piece of rosin.

This is a great product! The carrying case is plastic so it will not be crushed in the violin case. Very easy to use and has damaged the bow.
