works, sturdy, it doesn’t have the gray grip though it’s just smooth black plastic but that’s okay for us. easy to remove and easy to adjust as well because it has a little level on the side.

Throughly happy with this purchase: it’s better than having to purchase a whole other carseat. I’m glad Evenflo recognizes the importance of selling bases separate. However, I do wish in the details this stated “pairs with the “Evenflo pivot system”. I struggled with realizing that the carseat is stated as “lite max / safe max” on the actual carseat label.
