I purchased this to use it for camping but I don't think I will be doing that. It is far too heavy for me. I'd say ill use it for guest but I probably wont be doing that either due to having air mattresses that are far more comfortable. All in all it is a sturdy, very well made cot. I think it could be good for camping if you are able to park right in front of your site and aren't hiking to your spot.

As mentioned in other reviews this is pretty heavy making it awkward. Again as mentioned I could only get one end support snapped on but that seemed like plenty of support. I don't doubt it will support 500lbs, but all I wanted was the extra width. Hense unless I actually needed 500lbs of support, I would not buy this again only for the extra width.

This is a basic, what I would call on a "need" / emergency basis only, sleeping cot. Assembly for this device had fewer steps, but was more frustrating relative to other, similar devices I've reviewed in the past, due to the particular difficulty I experienced fitting the tension rods together. While there were very few doubts in my mind as to the structural durability of this device, the material itself wasn't totally confidence-inspiring, nor would lend to this being used in rugged environments on a regular basis, but more for the infrequent use, if you need some guest overflow sleeping accommodation or need something very temporary for someone else who forgot/can't afford their own. To that end on pricing, I am not totally sold on this being the best value for what you get. You can get (slightly) more comfortable, higher weight rated, less assembly frustration related sleeping solutions for a few bucks less. That being said, while there were no immediate or glaring flaws, it definitely lacks significant polish, especially at the current price point.

I'm torn about this cot and a little confused. Maybe it's a quality control thing? So this is a very similar design to the military cots with the way it opens and folds. There is no tension at all and it unfolds almost too effortlessly as the legs just fall so make sure there's nothing in the way for them to hit.The X leg design keeps you from having any kind of bar going across that would dig into you when you lie down.I'm 6' 2" and weigh 200 pounds. There's ample space to be comfortable (as comfortable as a tension type cot can be) for me and the frame is sturdy under my weight.Mine came with no instructions but it's a simple matter of unfolding it and inserting the 2 tension bars. Here's where it lost stars with me. One end has a zipper, presumably to control tension. So I placed the first bar at the end opposite the zipper. It took all the strength I had in my hands to get that bar in place. The material had good tension. The bar at the end with the zipper is so loose the bar will fall with the slightest touch.Of course the product dimensions in the description will tell you exactly how big it is and how much space it takes up so that should come as no surprise when you get it but apparently it's hit or miss as to how each part of it works for you.If everything went together snugly as it's supposed to this would be a good cot as it's built on a decades old design that has worked for millions of people.

My use case for this Ling Rong Extra Wide Camping cot includes truck camping and general guest use. I want something that is easy to fold out without a lot of “assembly”. Out of the box. This thing is heavy. It is large, even in the carry bag. It looks and feels sturdy. The fact that it is steel rather than a lighter material accounts for its heft.Dumping it out of the carry bag revealed a fold-out design that requires a fair amount of working space. The folding portions themselves require some strength to manipulate, a couple of times I stepped back to avoid having a hand or finger caught in a fold. This is not as simple as a folding lawn chair. The end pieces adding tension to the 600D fabric bed need some engineering reconsideration. Yes, they do secure the canvas surface, but unless there is tension (as in you lying on the cot) they are loose (zipper closed!) and for me, at 180 pounds, (maybe) that tension was not enough, as I can easily move them out of position moving to get out off the cot or while lying down with a light foot push. The tension bar would disconnect from the post without the half moon “lock”. That bar does not lock in place on both corners – which would make it more secure. The tension bars are not even necessary for my own use and weight. The bed seems fine without those pieces installed. Heavier persons? Yeah, they would want them in place. It is comfortable enough as a cot, and I have no doubts about the weight rating. As for use in truck camping? I have a short bed Tacoma. Unfortunately, this cot takes up a lot of space when set up. Yeah, extra wide. At home for guests? I have a number of other cot and mattress options that are easier to set up in smaller spaces. Personally, I did not find this Extra Wide cot worth the time or effort with surrounding options that have less heft, and are easier to carry and set up. It needs to be lighter in weight! Would I use this regularly or on a camping trip? I do not think so. Unless I have some hefty people with me that are willing to set it up. It’s OK, 3.5 rounded to 4/5.

This camping cot is wide and high off the ground, making it easy to get in and out of bed. It's very sturdy, super comfortable, and folds up easily into a compact bag. It's definitely the best choice for car camping.

This camping cot is well made and the extra wide design allows me to sleep on my stomach comfortably. Setup was intuitive with no confusing instructions. Used it for over 20 nights with no wear and tear. Supports 275 lbs with no effort at all.
