Easy to assemble /attach, but it does take a bit of time to do both (I have to remove to store my ladder). When added properly it provides added balance and safety to your existing ladder and makes gutter repair/cleaning a much safer and less terrifying process. Helps keep the ladder steady against the roof/house (versus leaning on the metal/slippery gutter) Ladder is much more anchored and balanced as you climb up /down. Happy with this.

Doesn't fit as the directions state. The ladder would have to be one foot wide with narrow sides. Got it to secure to the top rung and it should work fine. Also needs a couple more lock washers and maybe two lock nuts to secure the feet bolts. Just regular nuts came to secure the feet which I assume will just come loose and get lost eventually. I used Loctite as I couldn't find any nuts to double them up or find any lock nuts at home. Seems made good enough as far as heft and strength.

I have always been a little bit afraid of ladders. I don't like going up them. They always feel like they're going to tip over. But this thing is actually made a huge difference. It feels like the latter is a lot more secure because it is more secure. It gives it a bigger footprint to lean on, and so it's not all wobbly. When you start getting up closer to the top. This thing has been a huge game changer for ladders for me. I would highly recommend it to anybody. That has issues with the stability of ladders.

I didn't like how this stabilizer bar was attached to the ladder. If you have a wooden ladder it would probably bite into the wood making it more stable, but attaching it to an aluminum or steel ladder, I found it to slip no matter how tight I made it. At the furthest tension of the ladder, which is where I need it to be the most stable it slid on me and I almost fell off the ladder. It was quite a surprise.

Over the years I've added more rain gutters along my roof and that has reduced the number of locations I can place my ladder. I also need to clean the eaves prior to painting and I don't like the awkward positions I wind up in with a plain ladder. This stabilizer solves both of these issues for me. The downside is that it's awkward to take on and off.Once attached to the ladder, this stabilizer does make it safe for me to place the ladder over rain gutters without denting them - great. I'm also much more comfortable (not leaning back over my head) to clean the eaves/sofets; I attach the stabilizer to the top rung and place it against the side of the house and that provides additional room to work - this is a huge deal for me from a safety perspective. What I don't like is putting the stabilizer on and taking it off - it's not difficult, it just takes more time. I do wish the attachment points were further apart so they'd also go over the vertical parts of the ladder.Where I store my ladder does not allow for me to leave this attached, so I'll need to take it on/off when needed (depending on the job). The threads (metric m8 x 1.25pitch) of the u-bolts are much longer than they need to be (at least for my Werner), so I may cut them shorter. It also looks like there isn't enough room for wingnuts instead of the provided nuts. So with the threads a bit shorter, I'll use the same nuts and spin them on/off with an electric ratchet and deep socket. There aren't any provided lock washers, and I think that is an oversight; so I'll add some. It's not convenient, but I'm much more comfortable on the ladder with it attached.
