A fan sprayer is a reliable tool that you can set down for a few minutes to soak a small area (new or special plant) and then to easily spray the rest of the planting bed. So much easier and less intense than a trigger sprayer. However, this is made of plastic, so it will break if you bang it against something or if it is left outside during a freeze. You can always add a better washer if small leaks are a problem-- that's easy. But put it away in the winter.

Been busy planting roses, lavender, and a bunch of other stuff in our yard this spring. Had a bit of a dry spell. Had a typical spray nozzle on our hose. Those are good for washing cars -- but stink for watering plants. There just isn't enough flow at low volume -- while opening it up wide to save time will result in the plant getting blown up by the spray. This spray head allows you to disperse a lot of water quickly to soak down to the root ball while leaving the above ground foliage alone. Perfect for watering plants -- and you don't have to keep stopping to refill a watering can.

My elderly mother doesnʻt want a metal sprayer because they are too heavy for her when sheʻs watering, so I have to find plastic ones (not always easy as the local stores donʻt seem to carry them—thank you, Amazon). I bought a couple of different ones, was *very* disappointed to find out the yellow one leaked like crazy (and not where youʻd expect—the valve was faulty), but relieved to have also purchased this one, so I could quickly swap them out for her and sheʻs happy (and no longer soaking wet) now.

This sprayer gets the job done. Would like to see bigger holes and fewer of them or better still a better arrangement of holes in the spray pattern. I use this type of sprayer for watering a large area that does not have delicate plants that can get hurt by this type of sprayer. Construction of this sprayer is not very sturdy but you likely deduced this already by the image. Personally I need a sprayer that can water a very large garden quickly and hence I like using this kind of sprayer. As others have pointed out, don't use the adjustable flow control and keep it on open at all times if you want it to last longer and don't like water running all over you. Hope this helps your decision making process....

Brand new, out of the package, I connect this to my garden hose, turn the flow control off and turn on the water. As the water reaches the nozzle, a stream of water shoots from the screw that connects the black flow controller. I open the flow controller to allow water to pass through the nozzle and the stream continues from the flow controller. I turned off the water and tightened the screw thinking that it may have just been too loose. Nope. My second attempt yields the same results as before. Water sprays from the flow controller and the nozzle. It's not worth returning because of the price but I'd expect it to at least work a little bit. Nope. Avoid this item and spend a few more dollars to get a decent watering nozzle.

As a reviewer said this is what is needed. All too often the combo models quit working and leak because of the o ring wearing out from use and there are no o rings offered to repair. Because of a five cent o ring an expensive combo model becomes useless and leaks. Really is not a good experience. One of these and a watering ball for soaking is what I am seeing real gardener pros are using. Don't be caught up in the throw away madness of the one thing does everything syndrome. For less than half the price you can get two products that will be much more effective and save money in the process. You can also add an old fashion brass watering nozzle that can be adjusted to do the hard drive way cleaning and now you're indestructible and way ahead of the game with out breaking the bank on an expensive gizmo that works for a season and then gets thrown away. I have tried to find exact o ring replacements at the big box stores and they are not available for an exact fit. Shame on the manufacturers who offer a product with a proprietary o ring with no replacements available. You are driving consumers away from your products with these tactics.
