This set is really cute. The pieces are thick and durable. They hold really well with the Velcro strip on the back. So fun for my 22 month old!

This is a great set, and perfect for kids who live on or like farms. Tons of ways it can be used. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the age recommendation until after I got the item, so although the pieces are felt/flannel, I thought it’d be ok for a 2 - 3 year old, but they’re indicating 3 years - 10 years. Guess it can be a choking hazard. I’ll read all the way down next time. Still love this, and it’ll wait for a couple of years.

My wife is a Montessori school teacher. Whilst at school, she works with toddler age children (18 months to 3 years). At church, she works with the preschool aged kids (3 - 5 years).Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of things to do in the preschool room at church… so, my wife has to take items with her to use in order to teach the kids as well as keep them entertained. This felt board set of farm animals is another GREAT item that she has been able to add to her bag of tricks. It is well made and quite entertaining. It has a LOT of different items that are able to be placed on the large felt board. Everything from fruits to vegetables to animals and buildings. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained as well for use in teaching lessons. If you’re needing a felt board with farm related items… I’d recommend taking another look at this set. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

I was hoping for a nice flannel board and felt animals that actually stick well. What I received is a high quality flannel board and the cutest animals and other farm pieces that all have an amazing 3d effect to them. The pieces are larger than I expected, and each one has one or two Velcro pieces on the back that easily sticks to the flannel board. The animals all have creative expressions and every piece is incredibly detailed.Because the background is made of actual flannel and not cheap felt like most other boards available, I discovered that I can also use some of the smaller, single layer felt shapes I already own that don't have Velcro or any adhesive at all. That's a huge bonus for me, because it means I have a lot more pieces and themes I can use. It also makes it easier for my grand kids (all ages 3 & under) to play with the board on their own, as the Velcro pieces are a little strong for their toddler fingers to remove. I still love the thick pieces in this set though, and they will make story time so much fun for me and the kiddos. The board contains simple loops on all four corners to hang it with. It also comes with unusual multi-prong pin hooks that you can stick into your wall. They're not a good option for my 100 year old bead-board walls, but I use Command Hooks for almost everything, so that's not an issue for me. They might work well for drywall or sheet rock though. This is definitely the nicest board and felt pieces that I have ever seen, and I can't believe it's available for such an amazing price. Even if I had the talent, I don't think I could make the pieces myself for that price, and they certainly wouldn't be nearly as adorable. Honestly, if you're looking for a great felt story board set, just save yourself some research time, and buy this one. I think you'll be very happy you did.

At the time of this review, the list price is $26 and the sale price is $17.99. The first thing I thought as I was opening the box was "How do they do this for $18?" I've got a few unfinished projects for similar things, and the cost for the materials alone is that much at least. Then you take into account the time it would take to cut all of the felt out, glue them together, and you're looking at the cost of your time as well. Granted, it's a fun project, but for me it's the kind of project that sits in a corner half done for a year or two instead of being put to use by the children.EDIT: I'm leaving this at 5*, but want to add that after 2 days, the ribbons holding it up broke. This is an easy DIY fix, but is still an inconvenience worth adding.I was impressed by the low-profile hanging hooks it came with. I've never seen them like that before, but it's ingenious, so I included a picture of one as it came, and how it looks after being nailed to the wall. It was really easy to use, and it feels smooth. I feel a lot better about these than I would about a metal nail poking out where the kids play, especially since it's easy to take the board on and off with these hooks. The materials are well made. I know if a kid got in a bad mood they could tear the pieces apart if they tried, but it would also be a pretty easy fix with a hot glue gun if they did. They seem sturdy enough for regular playtime use. I like that the velcro is sewn on to the backs- that's a feature I haven't seen in other felt boards. I'm really excited about the background board. It came folded and is a little wrinkled on the creases, but I intend to iron it out and it will be just fine.I love that the background isn't just plain felt material, it's a meadow with flowers and a pond- just as pictured in the product description. There is a LOT I could do with that backdrop scene if/when I get around to making some other felt-ish characters. I think the easiest way to do that would be to print off some pictures, cut them out, laminate and cut them out again, and attach velcro dots to them. Possible scenarios would be an enchanted castle with medieval knights and a princess, or storybook tales like Little Red Riding Hood, or supplemental characters for any book we might be reading that week. There are a lot of possibilities there that I'm playing with in my mind.I'm so tickled pink to have this in our playroom. I've wanted a felt board for years, and this one is the cutest one I've ever seen on the market. And while this is unique to my situation, I'm also pretty thrilled that the green matches our wall where we've painted a forest scene. That was just a coincidence, but it sure does make the board look that much cuter! People will think we planned it that way.My kids were really excited when they realized what this was. My 12-year-old daughter was especially keen to play with it. She did the scene pictured, and as I'm typing this, she's making a new scene and humming a happy tune. My younger kids liked it too. I'm sure we'll get years and years of happy use with this story board.
Smaller in circumference than I needed.

My Grandson loves these.. I keep themIn my Grandma bag for when I come to visit. He always asks to play with them & spends a good deal of time making pictures. My bag of tricks keeps toys special instead of them being one of many. It’s been a great idea
