The case is ok. It's a hard shell.There is only approx. 1.25" of actual space because the mesh portion in the lid is taught. When the lid is closed, it goes straight across like it's solid.They seem to have counted the width by the zipper, which sticks out. There is only 6" of area for any item.

This is a really nice little case. I don't have the audio mixer its listed to fit, but I do have a small sound mixer I needed a case for and this one works perfectly. I love that the case is very solid and sturdy. It has netting with a zipper on one side and a nice velvet on the other side to put your item on. It's roomy and holds quite a bit. I was able to fit my sound mixer as well as various cords and instructions. It's approx 7" by 6" so there are a number of different electronics this would work for. The zippers work well. Overall I really like this case and do recommend it.
