Hipshot Tremsetter

I followed an installation video from YouTube, so I can’t evaluate the accuracy of the enclosed directions, but they look like something my first grade teacher used to run off on her mimeograph machine. I would expect better from Fender. As for the product itself, it is of good quality, is fairly straightforward to install and works extremely well. I’m not used to having my Strat stay perfectly in tune like this for days. It’s nice. I would recommend this to a friend.

This works as advertised. Put this on my son's Squier Strat with a floated trem. Installed per instructions. The guitar now stays in tune when bending strings and reliably returns to tune when tremelo is used. Great addition!

The rather badly reproduced instructions were easy to follow and the installation was easy. The unit works well. Note there is a also a useful installation video online.

Perfect fit for my Stratocaster Plus 1991.The previous owner (for some unknown reason) removed the trem setter installed from factory on the guitar. Once received, I only had to fit the part in the factory set holes and it works perfectly. In another note it can be a hassle to install it on a guitar from scratch. Highly recommended to what’s some YouTube tutorials before jumping in to action

I installed this on my Floyd Rose and it works just fine. The instructions are a bit dry but they are detailed and accurate if followed properly.

I have been using these in every guitar I have owned with a tremolo system for over a decade now. They are a bit difficult to install and dial-in (I recommend taking it to a luthier for installation - not guitar center). Once installed, they will make the action a bit stiffer (especially with free-floating devices), but is only a temporary distraction until you get accustomed to the feel of it.The point of the system is to return the tremolo to 0 degrees, back in tune and it does that flawlessly - every time.I have had these installed in Fender style stationary, Floyd free-floating and Ibanez style systems and it works perfectly in every type. This ends the frustration of detuning when using the bar and also out of tune when string stretching (since it holds the fulcrum point in place.Regardless if your method is mild, focused emphasis or Vai / Van Halen style incessant dive bombing, this system brings the tremolo back to the center in-tune position. No other system works as well. Also, this system will allow both diving and stretching (2-way) operation. It is not just another stupid hard stop / blocking system.

3 weeks after installing it and my Stat has stayed in tune the whole time. Havent broken a string yet so i don't if it still holds in tune with a broken string. All said, i like this and the way it plays. More of a Hard Tail feel. I did not like drilling holes and taking pieces of my precious Fender. If you are not mechanically inclined and love you guitar, get a professional to do it for you. If there was ever a way to improve upon the perfection of an American made Stratocaster, this might be it.

I'm in the middle on this one.it has a fairly high degree of difficulty to install and set up correctly if you can do that you can probably already setup well enough not to have to have it.not enough reward to justify it for me

Finally my term works like it should and stays in tune. I had a Luthier install this for me who is very familiar with installing them, he set it up properly so it works as expected.

I have five strat-style guitars and there's a hipshot tremsetter in every one of them! Four out of five have been completely trouble-free and I'll replace the tremsetter in the problem child pretty soon. Installation is tricky, but if you take your time and follow the instructions carefully, you'll probably get great results. The manufacturer has a great installation video on youtube.
