The cycles of extreme heating and cooling eventually break down the standard steel unit. This high strength steel replacement fits the Lil' Tex, Lil' Tex Elite, and Texas models. . Unlike the picture in the description, the collared sleeve for holding the igniter rod centered is not on the hot pot I received. As delivered, the pot came with a larger diameter straight tube which, when the set screw is tightened, allows the red hot center section of the igniter to touch the pot tube for the entire length. Acting as a heat sink, much of the energy is then transferred to the pot and not out to the tip where it can ignite the pellets. As delivered it does not work. After verifying that the igniter worked, I wrapped safety wire around the first inch of it starting from where the set screw makes contact. After reinserting, the wrapped igniter then stayed centered in the tube of the pot and lit the pellets.

I have a pre 2013 Traeger Lil’ Texas and had previously tried a different off-brand fire pot. It took me replacing every other component before I figured out the other off-branded fire pot was the problem. Read some reviews that this firepot worked great on older models so thought I’d give it a try. Installed it and it started right up! I could tell the airflow was stronger right from the start! Very happy with this item!

Fire pot showed up and I was concerned about the sticky coating all over it as it wouldn’t wipe off. So I figured if it fit correctly I’d just burn it off. It installed easily just had to pull up the auger ever so slightly to get it through the hole of fire box. The screw holes all lined up perfectly. I turned it on high, let it cook off the funk for 1hr to be safe. Worked like a charm. The set ‘screw’ for the hot rod isn’t a screw like original Traeger fire pot. It’s a small Allen key screw which I’m concerned in the future might be hard to get out after years of heat/cool cycle but only time will tell. Put in a new hot rod as well since this is a 2014 model. All works like it should. One weld on the hot rod holder wasn’t 100% complete but should be fine. Seems to be a thicker gauge of steel than original as well.l

This product was as described a direct replacement for the original burn pot. It was made out of a heavier gauge steel then the factory one and was very easy to install, done in 5 minutes.

This part was an exact fit for my Gen 1 pro-series 34. Installation was reletively easy. I also change the igniter while I had the fire pot removed. My grill had become difficult to start due to the degraded fire pot. This returned it to good as new function.

I have a Pitboss pellet grill, not a traeger. So I wasn't sure that it would fit. Not only did it fit perfect. It's a way better quality product than the factory one. Installed easily and works like a champ!

After two seasons of heavy use I had to replace my Traeger controller so decided to also replace the fire pot and hot rod too. This is a very easy replacement of a critical Traeger component. I can't live without my Traeger, so replace these items when necessary and your Traeger will live on delivering you the best tasting food ever cooked on a grill. If you don't have a pellet grill and you like grilled food, buy one. They are worth every penny; everybody's making them now. And keep it going with quality replacement parts, like this hot pot.

First off, l want to make it clear that this was the proper fire pot and a perfect fit for my 12 year old Traeger — contrary to what the Traeger representative insisted. Here is the condensed version of my frustration figuring this out. I hope this helps someone else with a similar model grill:I contacted Traeger to find out what fire pot to buy for a proper fit for my grill. I gave them the model, serial number, and the contact information under which I had originally registered the grill. They told me that for my model, the BBQ 100, a “9 hole fire pot” was no longer available. She indicated that my grill was too old and outdated and that I would have to purchase the controller, hot rod and temp probe and that it was a major overhaul. I attempted to explain to their representative that replacing all of the existing hardware made no sense and that perhaps there was some confusion in that Traeger had produced another grill in the ‘80’s with the same model number. I got the, “as per my manager — this is the way it is”, speach. The “manager” was unavailable and of course has never called back as promised. The upshot is, if you have the newer Traeger with the rounded stainless steel lid and it came with an automatic igniter (not one of the old original 1980’s era, more box shaped red top grills without an igniter/hot rod), this is the replacement fire pot you need. This one is much better quality than the one offered by Traeger.
