Carefully remove the old springs, noting their mounting positions and connections. Align the new spring precisely with the original mounting position so that the mounting holes are exactly the same, and tighten securely with screws. After completing the installation, manually open and close the hood gently and repeatedly to check for smoothness. If there is any sticking, fine-tune the position or angle of the springs until the hood opens and closes smoothly.

These DO NOT fit 68 - 72 Chevelle hood hinges WITHOUT MODIFICATIONS.The ends of the springs are too close to the main body of the spring and therefore have to be adjusted to not rub on the spring perches.Giving 2 stars because I modified the ends to fit, and after installing, they work well with my fiberglass hood.
