My boyfriend used one of these at a restaurant we dined at and loved it! He likes the way it grinds peppercorns. It’s holding up well so far.

I worked on this grinder a couple hours. I know it’s highly rated and couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. Finally determined the top part of the mill, that is removed to add peppercorn, was missing the turnplate which is screwed to its bottom. So the drive shaft wouldn’t turn, hence would not grind pepper.

I love that this product is made in USA! Hard to find nice salt grinders that are.I use is for truffle salt - I like buying the coarse flavored salt.Will be buying more in other colors for other salt flavors i use.

We have purchased other pepper grinders in the past. Hubby loves fresh cracked black pepper and through the years, we have have gone through several. This is the first one that he said he really liked. You can feel the quality. I love the sleek design. It is simple to fill and the only regret is that we purchased the smaller size. We will be purchasing the larger size too.

We don’t use salt very often in our cooking, but we wanted to have a nice salt mill for when we do - and for guests shoukd they want salt. The small size of this model fit that bill perfectly.The aesthetic of the mill is simple and beautiful; the natural beauty of the wood really shines. The only concern I have is that the workings are of a plastic - while it looks to be a solid and firm type, only time will tell its durability.The ability to change courseness is an added bonus; that it’s made in Maine (where we live) made it an obvious choice.I would definitely recommend this mill, and for gift-giving (housewarming, newly independent friends or family, newlyweds, etc)

I researched a lot of pepper mills and wanted one of great quality. I'm glad I got this one. It not only has a great reputation and is American-made, but it also looks beautiful on my table and is serving us well so far. I ordinarily would not pay a lot for a pepper mill, but I intend for this one to be the last one I buy. I think it should hold up without a problem.

Great salt/pepper shaker. Can never go wrong with Fletcher’s Mill’s grinding mechanism. The salt shaker has plastic parts to eliminate corrosion and the pepper grinder is all metal.Buyer beware. This is only for two, maybe three people mix. A family of four would have to replace salt and peppercorn frequently. Great shaker, great mechanism, but be aware of the size your purchasing.

The description for this little gem boasts that it is "handcrafted in Maine from the finest New England hardwoods", "combines good looks with modern technology", and so forth. I think we can all agree that it's super-duper important to only use authentic New England hardwoods in our salt delivery systems. I, for one, would never be caught dead with inferior mid-Atlantic hardwoods. (Let alone - - softwoods!) And only troglodytes would use anything less than the very latest technology in their manual salt crystal deployment mechanisms.Now that we've gotten that out of the way, the next most important reason for buying a salt shaker is its looks. In my case, I wanted something that looks nice in a modern kitchen. I liked the photo of this product, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it looks even better in person. It has a nice finish, and doesn't look or feel cheap or plastic-y in the hand. And all my salt crystals are now delivered with the utmost precision.
