So I have had these on my truck (2006 F150 XLT , 5.4 Triton) since July of 2015. As far as the sound goes.. I think it is just right. Has a good deep rumble when accelerating but quite when cruising. I also want to note... I really like the sound as a "spectator". When my girlfriend borrows the truck and drives away.. it sounds BA. From even inside the house I hear the rumble of the engine start and the rumble of the acceleration. Sounds real well. Generally happy with the material cuz it holds up against rust decently, however not so crazy about the chrome as I have higher expectation. After a year a notices slight rust spots already. Not horrible but not a bright as it use to be new. I would drop it to 4 just for the chrome issue, but i gave it a three because the adjustable hanger just forward the muffler, does not even come close to even reaching the stock mount so there is no way to support that area. Having everything tight helps, but I which I can use that hanger for added support. I am dinging it because this model is suppose to be made for my truck so I expect everything to fit.

Nice deep rumble. Sound is medium in how loud it is. Pretty quiet at idle. Excellent sound at WOT. Overall I would have preferred something a bit louder but it all depends what you are looking for. very small drone on the highway. Build quality is top notch

I finally decided to do some mods on my "new for me" truck. A good friend of mine has an American Thunder cat back single exit (2008 FX4) that I loved so I decided to go with Flowmaster myself. I went with the dual rear exit. Great sound with a cold start up. Not much at idle. I could go for a little more. I have no real complaints with "highway drone." The cabin resonance is notable but not annoying. Does not hinder conversations and I ususally have music going anyway. Friend of mine with a lift installed with no issues. I followed another user's recommendation of having the tips welded on to deter theft. Looks great, sounds great. I actually enjoy having someone else drive my truck past me to get to hear it from the outside. Like I said, does not give a lot at idle, but when someone pulls up on the right, rev the engine and it sounds MEAN! Do not try to race me in your 4 banger import. Kidding but you know what I mean. I also installed a K&N CAI. Very pleased with both. This is on a 2007 King Ranch F-150.

Trying to keep this strictly about the product is going to be difficult; I bought this to put on my '07 F150 the package came on time and like a kid a christmas i had to open it right away. I got to laying out the pieces and noticed that something wasn't right, there was no muffler in the box and I was looking at pipes that were not the right size. So second box arrives ahead of schedule after a call to Amazon customer service, much like everyone else i am not very pleased with the idle tone, I will be replacing the muffler that eventually came with this package.

The install for these pipes are pretty easy as long as you follow the directions. The chrome tips are beautiful also and really sets off the look of the back of the truck. I love the sound when I'm laying on the gas roaring down the road, but when you let off the gas, or your sitting at the light you can barely hear the exhaust. I was hoping for a nice deep idle....I got instead a nice deep roar going down the road and a pretty quiet idle. Overall the quality of the pipes and tips are 100% top notch. Its all on what your looking for in terms of sounds, unfortunately the idle was a bit of a bummer but I'm still happy with the system and the look.~Adam R.

Here are my thoughts on the Flowmaster's....I installed these bad boys on my 05 F150 FX4. (inline with a AFE Silver Bullet Throttle Body Spacer and a K&N Cold Air Intake) The installation process was a piece of cake. It took my friend and I only just a little over an hour to install. The instructions were straight forward and very easy to understand. This particular one was made for my truck. So, I guess that goes without saying. I could have installed them myself within a couple hours. I didn't even have to use any stands or lift the truck. But then I did have plenty of space underneath my truck to work.I do suggest that if you get them, that you familiarize yourself with the layout of the pipes and what your stock pipes look like. This will be very helpful. But then were guys.....we don't need instructions.I would have given them a 5 star rating, but was a little surprised at how quiet they are. I was hoping for a more aggressive sound from this setup. My partners 99 Silverado's stock pipes are still louder. (He just won't let it go) But then I'm not sure what the pipe diameter is for his truck or if he's running double in double out. Mines a 3" single in, double 2-1/2 out.The tone is smooth and there is hardly any sound resonance in the cab. I guess I still need for them to burn in some. At least that is what I am told.As for performance, there is a considerable difference from before. I noticed an increase in throttle response and horse power. I can't say anything about better mileage as I have not tested that part out yet.In a nutshell, they are way worth the price spent. If in the future, I'm still not happy with the sound. Then I will just replace the muffler. They all pretty much run the same price. (Anywhere from 55-70) But in any case, I'm very happy with them.

Sounds good on my 04 F150. I had an old Flowmaster that came with the truck when I bought it used, but it rusted off since it was only aluminized. This one seems like the steel will hold up for the entire life of the truck. It fits pretty easily but does require some work to get everything to fit properly and line things up so that it looks good. Did I mention how awesome it sounds? Sounds sweet from the outside of the truck and good from the inside without being loud at all. Overall I am very pleased especially for the price. But if you have the money then have a shop put it on with welds instead of the clamps. I dont hold much trust in the clamps. Welding it would hold things together very nicely and the tips NEED to be welded on or they will be stolen by anyone who carries around a socket set or wrench in their vehicle.
