I've had this for a little over 2 weeks, and I think it'll become more useful as time goes on. But a problem this series has is its super hard to balance. My specific one is almost balanced, but I wish I could've found a way for it to be all the way balanced. It has a nice case, and I am glad it comes with all the weights it does. I personally think that this is still the best way to go over the glidecam because they're ridiculously expensive. Just like Bose in headphones, it's just not necessary for those huge names. It's a really good steadicam, just like the rest it has its downfall(s) which is how hard it is to balance, and even at its lightest it's super heavy.

I read and saw all of the horror stories on balancing a FlyCam, I had mine balanced in less than 15 mins after assembling it. Use logic with it and the balancing is a breeze. Now on to the actual product. This is my very first FlyCam or free floating device ever. I have been pleasantly satisfied. The quality of the videos is awesome. I would highly recommend a few practice runs before actually using it for real.I'm using a camcorder, but I'm sure DSLR cameras would pose the same problems, I highly recommend some kind of body vest or arm/wrist brace. This thing has some weight to it and you would not be able to carry it for too long, I'd give you about 15 mins. max. It's not so much about upper body strength, most of the weight is on your wrist and forearm. Don't try to be macho, I bought the body vest, or body pod as they call it.Some of the videos I've taken with this thing is so alive. I use to use a tripod, nothing wrong with that, but the shots are so static. This FlyCam allows you to bring your videos to life with more panning shots, more fluid motion shots and just more Hollywood style action shots.

I want to take the time out to emphasize this point. I received the Flycam HD 3000, and I was so eager to put it all together and get to filming flowing video of my hallways and my unsuspecting actor/wife hanging out with our kids...lol. Unfortunately, I was having a difficult time balancing it. I mean REALLY difficult. I watched the videos on Youtube. I read the manual. I prayed to Anubis. I did everything, and no matter how perfectly stabilized it was when it was facing forward, it would lose all of that balance the second the camera stopped facing forward. I finally gave up and contacted Cinecity. I explained the issue, and they sent out a replacement immediately. When I got the new one, I set it up and had it rockin' and rollin' in 2 minutes! Sometimes you get a dud. I understand that things can happen during manufacturing or during shipping. I am more impressed by how quickly they resolved my issue. Very professional. That being said, the Flycam- HD 3000 works flawlessly after a bit of practice. I am really impressed by the quality of the build. It feels very sturdy. I can't speak for other cameras, but I have a Sony A6300, and it handles it very well (some people have had concerns of it being too light weight). This was well worth the money. Now all I need to do is get my lazy self motivated enough to actually film something worthwhile with this excellent piece of equipment!

The set was made much easier with their online user manuel and there are also several YouTube videos helping you understand how to quickly set this up. Once I was able to setup for my Cannon 70D with a Canon EF 40mm lens I was very impressed with how easy it was to use. I am a partner at an advertising agency and like to shoot B-roll with my production team. I am by no means a professional, but the stability of this rig was exceptional. We use a lot of tracks for movement footage, but in comparison the footage I shoot was nearly identical and took 90% less time to setup. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to capture social or online video footage. My tips would be to just use it, trial and error and just take your time to accomplish the perfect balance with your camera. I truly believe the quality far exceeds the price. It's a great value and a wonderful addition to your camera bag!

EDIT TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:I have changed my review from 5 stars to 1 star. An issue that I found (which is major) is that the "gimbal-like" clamp that is around the rod shaft that connects the handle to the shaft is not plum, level and square. The gimbal does not lay level against the main shaft. This creates a huge issue because I balance the camera facing forward and as you rotate the camera, it becomes un-balanced again. You will be rotating the camera all the time.I bought the Flycam HD-3000 in hopes that it would be as good as the Glidecam HD-2000. The difference in price was good enough for me. I've taken an online class and watched many videos that have taught me how to use so I feel that I'm getting pretty good results and I'm getting better with every video. I've made 10 videos using the Flycam in the past 5 months and you can check them out here to see my results:[...]I've never used the Glidecam HD-2000 but I am interested in trying one out some day to really put them head to head since I feel pretty confident with my gliding abilities now. I have heard many people say to keep your rig light so that you don't get tired and I prefer to get my rig as heavy as possible so that it fights movement and wind much easier. I can achieve smoother shots with a heavier load. I shoot with a Nikon D7200, Tokina 12-24mm f/4 and Takstar shot gun mic (sometimes). I'm very satisfied with this product but can't help but wonder if the Glidecam HD-2000 is better...Pros:- Only $125 (vs $469)- Works very well with a lot of practice and patience- Fine tuning knobs are a must. Don't waste your money/time with something that doesn't have knobsCons:- The QuickRelease page is garbage, throw it away and buy a manfrotto 577- The table clip is also worthless since you won't use it when your on site and is a waste of time. Don't use it.
