Right out of the box it feels and looks cheap. It is hard to use as the measurements can be confusing to read. I have tried using it and just don't like it.

Im really happy to have this digital weighing measuring spoon. I can now make the recipes that are by weight, instead of cups. It seems to work just fine, and seems to be accurate. I weighed a honey mustard packet from Chick-fil-A that says it weighs 28 grams. The spoon said 29 grams, which is probably right, if you allow a gram for the container. The only problem I had, was that I had to get my husband to get the battery cover off, because it wouldn't budge for me. He got it off, but had to put so much force into it, that it popped off and flew across the room. Otherwise, all's well.

The measuring cup is cheaply made. When I tried to attach both pieces, I nearly broke the brackets. The screen was so blurry. It was hard to read whether it was ounces or grams. I tried measuring several different items and I could not get an accurate reading. I used this measuring spoon and my digital scale. My digital scale read exactly the same amount each time, the measuring cup gave me a different reading each time.

What is particularly nice about this food measuring device is that you don't have to put the food item you want to measure in a dish or bowl or cup and then figure out how to subtract the weight of the container. If you want to measure a piece of meat, for example, you just place it in the scoop, which starts out set to zero. The weight it then gives you is the weight of the meat slice, period.It is smaller than a full-sized food scale (the scoop measures roughly five inches long, three inches wide, and two inches deep), but we find that that is fine for most of the items we want to measure. You simply press the power button to turn it on and use the "switch" button to determine whether you want your measurement in grams, milliliters, cups, or ounces. The buttons are small, but that is not really a problem.Its one real weakness is its display, which unfortunately is not backlit so you are looking at small black numerals against a gray background. The actual measurement numbers are usually easy to read, but it can be difficult seeing what unit of measurement (i.e., grams, ounces, etc.) it is set for. Having a smallish and fairly dim screen no doubt prolongs battery life (and it automatically turns itself off after 30 seconds to help save the battery).The scoop is made of fairly thick plastic and looks quite sturdy. You can detach the scoop part from the handle to clean it. The instructions (which are on the box, not on a separate sheet of paper) do not say whether you can put it in a dishwasher; my inclination is to wash it by hand. It is also no problem to wash the handle, but since it contains the electronics it is wise to do so carefully.A major advantage is that you can store the scoop in a drawer as opposed to a regular food scale which takes up counter space. For those who have to deal with a small apartment kitchen that is a real boon. My only (relatively minor) complaint is that it does not have a larger or brighter display; otherwise this is a very nice device to have in your kitchen.

Seemed like a great idea, but does not function as advertised. Measurements are all over the place and measures verified with other full size scale as inconsistent as well.
