have got 3 of them for other cars am very happy with them. i am hard on my S/C 360 and have blown up heater cores at 7000 RPM with the OEM valve. so i made a thing to restrict it and it didn't happen anymore. the valve finaly died so i got this one and seen it was not 100% open. so i tryed it without my home made thing. works fine no more blowing up heater cores ..... it in no way affects how the heater works. will still cook ya out of the car. ... sending it back as defective (its not) won't change anything. the new one thay send ya back will be the same. O and buy 2 .... thay getting harder to find. who knows how long thay will be on here.

Received the valve and noticed the gate inside does not open fully, despite the lever being to the fully open position. The gate valve on the OEM heater valve being replaced opens fully. Ordered a replacement valve, so will see if that is the same as the one just received. The valve is definitely poorer quality than the OEM valve.

Looks just like the original one in my 1970 AMX except this one is cad plated instead of yellow chromate, but should work just fine.
