We ended up returning this rack. While the materials are solid and installation is straightforward, the vertical storage design just isn’t a good match for our needs. My fiancé has several high-end skis, some over $2,000 each, including powder and backcountry setups with specific rocker profiles. Storing skis vertically like this puts pressure on the tips, and over time that can flatten or distort the rocker. We’re not willing to risk that on expensive gear. The functionality is great in terms of space-saving and ease of use, and the price is fair for the quality. But for those who care about preserving the rocker or camber profile of their skis, especially higher-end models, this setup may not be ideal. If your skis don’t have a rocker or you’re less concerned about long-term impact, it might still work well for you. This rack might be fine for casual or lower-budget skis, but we’d recommend a horizontal storage option if you want to maintain the shape and performance of your equipment. It's a decent product, just not the right solution for serious skiers.

I have tons of sports equipment cluttering my garage. This wall mounted ski holder was easy to store and worth the money. I was able to install it myself with a few tools ( I have small drill that helped). The skis and poles are now up off the floor and neatly stored on the wall. Now what to do about the rest of the stuff!

I have a few other similar track-mounted hooks in my shed. This one looked very similar to those out of the box, and sure enough the brackets fit and worked just fine with those tracks. The overall quality and functionality is fine as long as you're not loading it with really heavy items. If you've never used track-mounted hooks like these, just know that it's probably not adequate to solely mount to studs if you have an unfinished wall (bare studs). If you only mount to exposed studs, you'll want to place the hooks very close to the studs. If you put the hooks in the middle between the studs, then even a modestly heavy load on the hooks will cause the track to flex a bit. If you have a solid wall over your studs, you should be fine; otherwise you'll probably want to attach a 1x6 or 2x6 backer across the studs and mount the track to that.I thought I could mount the track across three of the 12" OC studs in my shed (and only put the hooks over the stud area). But unfortunately the outermost mounting holes are about 23" apart. Bummer!4/5 stars. I do like the track-mounted hooks in general, as they are versatile and adjustable. These seem as good as the other brands I own. Strangely, though the product description indicates they are designed for skis, the box I received didn't mention skis at all and just indicated they were general purpose storage hooks. There was even a picture in the box showing garage-type items (shovels, etc.) on the hooks. The hooks would support the weight of skis just fine, but 4 pairs of skis across would be an extremely tight fit.

These are sturdy garage racks. I don't ski and am not using them for such, but I am hanging a few shovels/brooms/lawn chairs from it in my garage and it holds up just fine. I only used three of the four hooks because the mounting rail is short, but for something narrower like skis I assume it would work fine. I'm not sure what skis could possibly amount to 200 lbs on this rack as claimed by the product listing, but I have at least 50 lbs worth of stuff on it and it's showing no signs of giving way (I have it screwed directly into wood studs, I assume it would not do well with just drywall anchors). So far, no complaints!

This was the perfect size for a small area of wall I had available in my garage. The long hooks make this versatile for hanging any larger items you want off the floor of the garage (or smaller, the hooks allow for both). I haven’t decided what to put on these yet, but I’m thinking it’ll be perfect for multiple ladders I have sitting on the floor. Super easy to install. May need to have some hardware on hand as the instructions note “the fasteners supplied are intended for use in brick walls only”. I positioned this on two studs with the screws provided without any issue and it’s very stable. I am nervous that I would struggle with shifting or moving the hooks once I push them in place so I’m waiting to push all of them in until I know exactly what I want to put on them.

This rack is exactly what I needed for storing ski's. I have always just throw our skis in the closet which leads t them getting knocked around and moved and detached from each other when I need to dig in there for something else. I was originally going to place these on the wall in the closet but then realized I could put this way up towards the ceiling in the garage and hang the ski's up out of the way of everything. I like the added hooks fr helmets and poles, though i think with summer heat I may keep the helmets in our gear bags in the basement. I'll have to find this rack system for our snowboards as well so we can keep those out of the way of everything.

I didn't use this for skis, but it does seem perfect for that. I wanted it for my shed, needed it to have deep hooks for the small space and it worked well...mostly.The rack is solid and has plenty of mounting holes. It is a bit too tall to mount to a 2x4 though, I had to add another 2x4 on top of my existing framework.A tine on one the hooks was slightly bent, not a huge deal. Also, they're not quite wide enough for a shovel head so if you intend to use this like I did be aware of that. I ended up using another hook, but I'm sure these could just be pried open slightly to accommodate without sacrificing too much strength. The price seems fair compared to the competition and how robust everything is.
