Nice heavy duty rake. Worth the money. Extension handles can freeze up if you leave them closed. Simple to assemble

Glad to find one on Amazon. I had one for years and a friend broke it. In buying one locally I discovered there was no replacement like the original rake I had.

I liked the feature to have it telescoping. But within 3 years, the "ball bearings or beads" that lock it at different length holes disappeared (or broke). So - no telescoping anymore. At first I thought they were frozen. (Nope) and I've had to use duct tape to "lock" the pole in place in order to use.I'd rather just have a non- telescoping one (even if not as convenient). The end section actually got stuck on the roof when the handle pulled from it. I had to get a ladder out and climb up and try to reach the rake end of the rake to get it down. The point of having a roof rake is to keep the ladder in the garage until spring!I think their warranty is 30 days. Good luck with that!In short: JUNK. Waste of money. I've owned my ladder for 25 years without any problems.

A little flimsy than I expected but it does the job

I love this roof rake. I’ve used it for four years now on some pretty heave snow upwards of 26” deep and it works great keeping my roof clear from the safety of the ground and preventing ice dams from building up. I’ve loaned it to a few people and now they want one! So far an additional 4 people have purchased it after using mine. I’ve even given it as a gift when a friend of mine bought a house in snow country.

I purchase this product to remove snow from my gutters during winter.1. Product came in a small package with the aluminum handle exposed to damage. The box in which the rake and parts came in was pretty banged up when I received it. The Manufacture could have packaged this product better.2. Assembly is pretty straight-forward and directions are easy to follow. I had an issue, however, with the little button-clip that is supposed to fit inside the handle (allows the operator to press the button to extend the handle. My little button clip broke while installing it. Not wanting to send the product back, I improvised and made my own clip.3. The product is lightweight as advertised.4. I have not had the opportunity to use the rake yet. I rate it 4-star for now because of the design (angle braces). I would not recommend using this product on heavy ice (frozen snow). Should work very well on freshly deposited snow.

I was impressed by the quality of the product. The design is decent and it extends/locks reasonably well and is fairly light in weight. The unavoidable drawback is that the plastic edge of the scoop has worn somewhat quickly from being pulled over the aggregate on the shingles but this is to be expected. It should give many years of service and the collapsible handle makes it easy to store. I would recommend this product and would buy it again.

Edit: march 2017: Still holding up just fine over a yr later. Used much more this winter than would have hoped for as we got a few storms with ice and snow. Built like a tank this even flexed at -40c with windchill and didn't break! This was purchased primarily to clean snow off our tempo (known everywhere outside of Quebec as a Snow Shelter) and it performs flawlessly with no signs of wear since its purchase over a month ago. Used it about a dozen times. It is rugged, light weight, and so much more user friendly than the ones with the poles that click into each other. Try clicking in 3 or 4 poles with your gloves off (of course cause those pesky metal studs never seem to click in with them on) in -30C and you'll understand why this roof rake is a life saver. it was very easy to put together ( i am not at all a handy man, so if i can do it, your 5 yr old son probably can too) expands in two different location, is made of lightweight aluminum, and just feels much more comfortable and solid in the hands than any other rake. The only problem is that now i'm doing the entire blocks' snow shelters after every snow fall!!! I told them to buy your own on amazon! Maybe I can get a referral fee? :)In all honesty I would have even paid double for this rake and still been happy. Cheaper/inferior/badly designed ones typically cost more than what I paid for this, so it was a no brainer. Thanks Amazon.

We purchased this roof rake a few weeks ago. This winter the snow has NEVER melted! In the past we have had no use for this product. But after many homes in our area of Buffalo, NY have had roof problems we thought we should be proactive and remove snow from a lower rather flat roof. It works great! It's light weight but strong. My neighbors father used it and thought it was fantastic! Highly recommend this product.

The joys of a harsh winter where you get more snow in 3 weeks than you typically get all season is why I needed to get a telescopic roof rake. I found this telescopic roof rake made by Garant to be awesome. I have tried to place some more pictures on this page to show the actual packaging that comes with it but Amazon has not accepted the pictures. The directions are not the best but it is simple enough to put together. The telescopic pole is very sturdy and makes it easy to adjust to various lengths. The winter of 2015 in the Northeast will go down in the record books but this roof rake will not only help with snow removal from our home but also from our above the ground pool. While we have a two story home, I was able to go out some windows on the second floor to pull snow from the roof line. The rake when fully extended is very heavy and awkward so be careful. Also, I would wear gloves so as not to hit your hands on the window you are going out of if you use my technique. If one is able to not go out a window, this could reach the second story. My advice is to keep your edge of your roof clear and hope for some sun. We have only had one day above freezing so the melt is not good. Whatever melts soon freezes thus causing the ice dams.A tip for those who want to rid themselves of ice dams- get some 100% calcium chloride. Make certain that you do not use regular rock salt (sodium chloride) since this can damage your roof. This can help to alleviate the need to have some one like a roofer (at a cost of $200-$400) clear the ice dam on your roof. This is a last resort though but in an emergency, it will help.Good luck to those affected by the snow. Spring cannot get here soon enough.

This winter has been long and I started to worry about my roof after several cases of roof leaking/collapses in the community. The assembly took longer than I expected as the instruction was pretty short. It worked pretty well and helped to remove a lot of snows from my roof. Depending the type of your house, it can be too short. Even for a bungalow, you may not be able to reach the top part. However, if you are brave enough to climb onto the roof, you can use it a snow-pusher to push all the snows down without walking close to the edge.Consider your own scenario/need before buying to avoid disappointment.

This is a very handy roof rake. My old completely aluminum one finally fell apart. This one is much lighter and the telescoping handle is very convenient since you don't have to fuss with wingbolts with gloves on, line ;up the holes, deal with fixed length or fixed extension pieces, and don't have to make the trip back to the garage for another extension, and worry about where all the pieces are if you should drop a wingnut or bolt into a snowbank. So far the locking mechanism for the handle is holding up but this is only it's first winter.
