The outer ring stopped working last week. Bought this in April 2023.

We have a very old GE oven with stovetop. Probably pushing 30 years. I have replaced the oven elements once and now this one stove top after it quit working. So far so good. Glad the part was available.

My range is maybe 15 years old, and the dual burner design was revised at some point, so the connections were slightly different. The new one has a jumper connected to the middle tab of a 3-tab terminal block where the original had 2 tabs. Just treat the two outside tabs one the new one as if they’re the two on the original burner, and you'll be fine. If you end up with only the outside ring working (like I did), swap those two wires around.Be careful lifting the stovetop to avoid pulling the rather short wires, and be mindful of sharp edges everywhere. I found it helpful to hold the springs to the standoffs with a bread tie during assembly, because gravity.

Upon the arrival of this product the packaging says to text "PARTS" to 36534 for installation instructions. When I texted "PARTS" to that number, I received a response stating "there is no service document for that part." Then why put that instruction to text for that document if there is no document?? I'm really regretting this. I only ordered it because I contacted GE Service Repair for them to fix the stove and the service tech called and told me to just order the part myself and save the money. Sheesh. What a bunch of foolishness.

This was the best option, fix a burner, versus replacing the stove. Once you understand how to get the the burner, it is almost plug and play. Remember to remove the holding clips off the old burner as the replacement doesn't include them. Wiring is slightly different as jumper is on the replacement, but it is still a one for one connection.

The first thing you may notice is that the internal and external coils go thru the separator (don’t know the correct name) differently than the original. So, make sure you take pics from various angles to make sure you wire it correctly. Other than that, it’s about a 15-20minute job to change it out. You’ll need a Phillips head, needle nose pliers, a stick about 10-11 inches, nut drivers, and patience. Oh, and make sure you unplug the range before even attempting this.

Item arrived in factory packaging from GE and was the recommended replacement for my range from GE.My 14 yr old range model number was JBP66SK4SS. The original part number was WB30T10044, but the part was updated to WB30T10099 by GE. The 10044 part was around $40 cheaper and might have been fine, but I was afraid to take a chance on something like a range burner. The new burner was fine and hope it lasts. A comparable range was around $900 and they really cheapened the materials, especially the door and the bottom drawer to store pans.PLEASE NOTE: Make sure you wear gloves when handling the burners they contain asbestos.
