Ruby is classified as a pink form of gemstone-quality corundum; All other color varieties of corundum are referred to as sapphires. .Star ruby is a rare variety of ruby that exhibits asterisms; A six-rayed star that twinkles when it moves across the surface of the stone. The star effect is caused by aligned needle-like rutile inclusions. It is rutile that is responsible for its silky shine. When rough, a ruby is dull and smooth, but when it is cut and polished its luster is equal to that of a fine diamond.
6 Rays-Star Red Ruby :-
Star Ruby is a type of ruby that exhibits a star-like phenomenon known as an asterisk. Star rubies contain intersecting needle-shaped inclusions (often the mineral rutile, a mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide) that cause a six-ray star-shaped pattern to appear in star rubies, when viewed with a single superior light source. To cause a star, rutile needles form in tight, parallel clusters. The reflection of each group of crystals forms a straight line that appears to float on the surface of the stone. There are always three groups of crystals that intersect at a 60 degree angle to each other. The three lines formed meet in the center to form the appearance of a 6-rayed star.

Moon and a star! I got this pack of loose star sapphires and was pleasantly surprised to find a few good ones in it! I made this with UV resin and mica powder. For a first time try, I think it turned out pretty good. 🌜🌟

I received 20 very small stones, not the 10 as described. Most were tiny ovals with the stars, but 3 of them were almost triangular, thin, flat without the stars. I am giving 2 stars as return and refund were seamless.

I was supposed to get 20 ct but received 12.5 ct I’m totally not happy , not only that the stone are super small!

So out of 10 stones, I would say there are 5 that I would feel comfortable using for the products I make. One was a broken piece and one was a totally clear stone, which I’m not happy about, but a few of them are very pretty. None of them are the oval shape I was expecting. Disappointed overall, but glad there is something usable.

Truly beautiful! I loved these cabochons, they are very authentic and you can really appreciate the star that produces the light, which reaffirms their authenticity, they are small Of all sizes but beautiful!

They are a lovely blue color and the asterisms are strong in all of them (the photos were taken in indirect sunlight and you can still see the stars). The photos I took do not do them justice! I am extremely confident that these are genuine as well; when I turned them over, I could see traces of matrix and small imperfections (usually a good indicator of authenticity, especially for the price). It's best to be skeptical of cheap stones that also seem near perfect. I'm not sure why some are unhappy with the size? Maybe they were hoping to make larger jewelry? Not my style, so I'm pleased with the modest size of the stones.
