Hydro Gemstones

HYDROTHERMAL GEMSTONES

A brief on what lab created hydrothermal gemstones are

Hydro

What are Hydrothermal Gemstones:

Hydrothermal gemstones are synthetic gemstones created in a laboratory using a process that mimics the conditions found in natural hydrothermal environments. These environments involve high temperatures and pressures that facilitate the growth of crystals. Hydrothermal gemstones are made by dissolving the necessary chemical components in a superheated water solution, which is then allowed to cool and crystallize. The resulting gemstones can have the same physical and chemical properties as natural gemstones, but are often more affordable due to their synthetic nature. Some popular hydrothermal gemstones include aquamarine, ruby, and emerald.

How was Hydrothermal Gemstone created:

A fun fact about hydrothermal gemstones is that they were actually first created by accident in the late 1800s. A French chemist named Auguste Verneuil was trying to create synthetic rubies using a flame fusion method, but instead discovered hydrothermal growth when he accidentally dropped a ruby seed crystal into a hydrothermal solution. This led to the development of the hydrothermal growth process, which is now commonly used to create a variety of synthetic gemstones.

How Popular are Hydrothermal Gemstones:

Hydrothermal gemstones are quite popular and widely used in the jewelry industry. They offer a more affordable alternative to natural gemstones, while still retaining the same physical and chemical properties. Hydrothermal gemstones are often difficult to distinguish from natural gemstones, and as a result, they are a popular choice for jewelry designers who want to offer high-quality gems at a more affordable point. Some popular hydrothermal gemstones include aquamarine, emerald, ruby, sapphire, and quartz. However, it's important to note that natural gemstones are still highly prized and sought after, especially for their rarity and uniqueness.

Why Choose Hydrothermal Gemstones:

Hydrothermal gemstones are identical to Natural gemstones when it comes to their physical properties. They look and feel the same and cost a fraction of the amount that their natural counterparts cost. Not only this but they come in much larger sizes than the natural gemstones. A 10+ Carat Hydrothermal gemstone is much easier to find than a Natural gemstone of the same carat weight. Recently Lab Grown Diamonds have gained popularity for various reasons and with them hydrothermal gemstones have gained popularity as well. Their cost

Arrived chipped and facets were hand done, not precise. I will recut it for a perfect gem. Clarity and color was good. It was a good source for preformed rough to practice with.

Not yellow at all. And it’s not square cut. It’s a rectangle. Garbage
