This is a cordless remote opener that you mount outside the garage. It is easy to install, and comes with good instructions. Just read them carefully, and you are on the way to a quick and easy installation. It works great. I emphasize that this is for Genie doors and may not work on other brands.

Instructions were clear. Had no trouble synch'ing keypad to existing Genie door opener. Just installed, so too early to comment on how it will perform over time.

My opener is a old Genie Intellicode, Model: IMS 1000. Purchased a Keypad via Amazon several years ago marketed by Overhead Door, which is the same as the Genie model. It suddenly stopped working; changing the battery did nothing. I ordered the Genie 37224R Keypad. Read the instructions, which are very clear and easy to understand. To get the new Keypad working only took as long as it took to enter my PIN in the Keypad (like a 4 step process); remove the plastic cover on the front of the opener that cover the bulbs; press the memory button on the opener; and, enter the PIN in the Keypad and press the Up/Down button. In total it took me about 30 minutes, and some of that time was doing a Google search and printing the owner's manual for my old Intellicode model to insure I was programming everything properly. This Keypad seems to require you to depress and hold the Up/Down button (after entering the PIN) for a second to transmit the signal and actuate the opener. Don't recall the old Keypad requiring holding the Up/Down key. Otherwise, it works perfectly.

Not a handy man so any achievements around the house are of high value. Keypad could not have been easier. Programmed two doors easily. Have old Genie opener and it could not have been easier. Did have small redo as programming only worked properly when done in sequence. Program door #1 then #2 etc. I tried to learn door #2 first and it apparently defaults to #1 automatically. Once I "learned" doors in sequence it went fine.Wife gave me a "Way to go". Mounting pretty straight forward. Screws that come with unit are long so pre-drilling is a must. Little overkill on screw size.Instructions are good. They are folded like a map which makes going from page 2 to 3 without changing languages somewhat a hit or miss.Product looks good and hopefully will last in exterior environment. Time will tell.

This works as expected and seems reasonably durable. This is a 'Genie' keypad; I have an Overhead Door opener (2026 = Legacy 800). Genie and OD seem to be same company but they use different numbers. The OD website shows this keypad but with different model letters. So, yes, this works with Model 2026 of Overhead Door. The programming instructions included and those pasted in the keypad cover were the same, simple enough for 1 door (I don't have multiple door), and worked. The instructions on the OD website were slightly different; I did not follow those. I think Genie-OD should get its act together on model designations. My opener says '2026' but I had to do a search to find out 2026 was Legacy 800. The screws (Phillips) included are very long and not particularly tough steel. You will need an electric drill to make holes before you try to screw them in, else you will strip the Phillips heads.

I'm happy with the product and it's performance. However, the programming part of the installation process was a bit frustrating. Finally called the Help line referenced in the instructions and found that the instructions were not correct. With step by step instructions from them, programing was successfully completed.

I looked carefully on amazon for a wireless keypad for my Overhead Door garage opener system. I wanted a keypad that used AAA batteries - not 9V. The info on Amazon for this keypad was great. I installed it this afternoon on my stucco exterior. One issue - the stucco required a masonry bit for the drilling, so one trip to Lowes for a masonry bit set. I was unable to use the screws provided, because I couldn't drill a deep enough pilot hole with the masonry bit. I may have run into a steel beam on my garage frame and broke two carbide coated bits trying to drill through the beam. I found a couple of shorter screws that were just right for the depth of hole I got with the masonry bit.Programming the PIN code - I thought I followed the directions, but I kept pressing program after entering the initial PIN. You only need to press Program to program the keypad. After programming just enter the PIN, then press the open/close button :)

I have a 2003 Genie ProMax opener and this worked great. It was easy to program both doors and it seems to be well made. It even came with energizer batteries instead of the usual funny named chinese that batteries that are "included" with items. This item does work with both Intellicode 1 AND 2 openers. We thought ours was a 2 but it was in fact a one. The supplied instructions were reasonable enough to follow if you read them completely. The only note I have is that the final programming step said to push the up down button 3 times to finish the programming...we had to push it a fourth time and then the door went down and programming was complete.

This wireless keypad is exactly what I needed to permit controlled access to my garage entrance. When I received the unit, I was initially confused about the name of the product ~ "OVERHEAD DOOR." I was expecting to see the Genie name and logo. I called the 800 number listed inside the wireless keypad and the operator told me Genie uses the OVERHEAD DOOR name for some of their products and this is the correct keypad for my Intellicode Genie Garage Door system (which is 14 years old). The instructions are well written and programming the keypad was straight-forward ~ very similar to programming a new remote. Installation was also very easy.Overall this is a great product and the merchant delivered the product ahead of schedule with free shipping. I'm a happy camper! All the best,Jim
