Great, reminds me of the Marine Corps in the 70s. These things are awesome, many uses.

So, I was in search of the smaller trioxane bars for small fire starters. That is exactly what these are.If you are looking for the full size bars, this is not them. This one box, is the equivalent of one larger bar, broken into three size pieces, and individually sealed.Let's be real, if it's for camping fire starters, unless you dredged up petrified lumber from the bottom of a lake, these will get your fire going.I purchased these simply because after opening one full size package, breaking off a piece to start a fire, and yes, honestly forgetting to zip lock what was left when I was done camping, I would have a small piece left the next time I wanted to start a fire.My laziness, yup, costs me more money, but is more efficient for sure.Recommend this for a gift too!

This is NOT the same size you get/got issued in the military. They were about 2 inches long, these are about 1"x1". Yes, it seems to be the same stuff and will probably work fine, but don't expect the regular 2" bars. The number on the box is even different, being 9110-00-889-3553 rather than the # shown in the picture. Like I said, it will do, but I won't be buying from this seller again.

Misleading and disingenuous. As mentioned by another review, Fuel tabs received were smaller and different Fed stock number. Not happy. Don't recommend purchase from supplier.Update:Supplier did apologize and corrected error by giving me credit for purchase.

I bought a bunch of G.I. Trioxane Heating Fuel Bars a couple of years ago via Amazon.com and always have at least a bar in my backpack, car, boat and motorcycle. With any kind of a spark or flame this bar will light and throw off enough heat to burn kindling and get a bigger fire going. I have tested this product in snow and rain. Even after being submerged in water and wet (don't ask) and broken into smaller pieces and it has ignited every time. I prefer to start fires using what is around me but it is comforting knowing you have another back-up plan. Great product but guessing that at some time it will be banned from shipping or sale so consider stocking up if you want to have a sure way of getting a fire going.

This is probably the best fire starter material you can get. I bring some of these along on backpacking trips to make starting a fire after hiking all day a no brainer. Who wants to put in a bit of a fight to get a fire going when you are dead beat tired? Even a small piece of this stuff will burn on its own for several minutes, and you just have to barely lick this stuff with a flame for the whole thing to light right up.This isn't the fire starter stuff you get all walmart or any sporting goods places, this stuff is hands down amazing compared to that stuff, and a way better way to go than cotton balls with jelly or any other messy do it yourself stuff. Also great for emergency kits and home prepping

These are trioxane bars, just 1/2 the size of the ones we used in the infantry. It's a shame, I have to remember where I got my last batch (not buying these again) of full bars that cost the same price. The full bars are really what you need to heat a full canteen cup's worth of water for soup or coffee so be prepared to blow through these at double speed. On the other hand the shipping was fast.
