When you purchase Glowshift's 42mm (1-5/8") Water Sender Adapter, you’ll also receive (2) hose clamps which secure the line to the water temp sensor hose attachment. These clamps will firmly tighten to the radiator hose, ensuring that the Water Sender Adapter has a leak-tight seal. GlowShift makes the process easy with installation instructions, an installation video, and free lifetime tech support to walk you through the process step-by-step.
Quick Install
With a few simple steps GlowShift’s Water Sender Adapter can be installed along with your water temperature sensor.
Cut the Coolant Line
After making sure that the engine is cool, locate a relatively straight section of the coolant hose and make a clean cut through the line.
Install the Adapter
Install the clamps over the two cut ends of the hose and place the water temperature sensor adapter in between, securing it tightly into place with the clamps.
Install the Sensor
Install the temperature sensor into the adapter, ensuring it is properly tightened. We recommend using Teflon tape on the sensor so that no leaks occur.

Unfortunately the 42mm radiator hose adapter didn't fit the radiator hose on my 1979 El Camino, it is about 2mm too wide. Yes 2 mm. So now I will be purchasing the 40mm. I'm sure I can force the 42mm with a little silicone spray or silicone grease, which I have both, but this is not the way it's supposed to be installed. With so much heat on the radiator hose, this will eventually harm the longevity of the hose. These products are only supposed to fit snug, pushed into the radiator hose with light pressure, not forced in. So again, 2mm does make a difference (that's what she said). I will return it in exchange for the 40mm, or I will simply buy it.
