What is nuclear radiation?

As radioactive material decays, the energy released (Nuclear Radiation) into the environment. It will harm a body that is exposed to it. It can directly kill cells, or it can cause mutations to DNA. If those mutations are not repaired, the cell may turn cancerous.

The common source of nuclear radiation can be: Leaked dust of nuclear power plan, nuclear weapon explosion,X-ray machines,,nuclear waste materials ,Iodine 131 medical treatment patient or animal, contaminated fruit, seafood,,Ionizing smoke detector etc.

I’ve had this product about 2 years. I got it out recently and it won’t charge more than 10%. It uses an old USB connector (USB B) so don’t lose the cord. I had hoped it wouldn’t go bad so quickly and am disappointed.

It feels like a feather and the buttons feel ridiculously cheap. The old 320S looks like it is actually nicer than this, which doesn’t make any sense. It also seems very slow to receive radiation. I used it on a check source and it takes a good minute before it responds to it, the slightest movement of the check source can have a huge impact on the reading. Also the battery reading sporadically went from 80 to 60, then I immediately went to charge it and it dropped to 50, then back to 80!??? After letting it charge it will not go above 98, I suspect that’s because the backlight will not go off during charging for some illogical reason.

Received unit on time,it arrived holding a 96% charge. I have only been taking background levels as of today, unit has worked as expected. Currently 100% satisfied. I live 30 mins from a (NPP) and as a spectator monitoring daily readings there have been a couple of anomalies worth notice. As I move forward with the online segment I will post the result.

Device works as advertised. Capable of detecting radioactive materials just as a GM should. Also downloading the data to a PC is easy with the software that one can download from the website.

Great Geiger Counter. I previously had the gmc320+ and it was amazing. I am so happy they added wifi. I hope they add Bluetooth soon so I can see readings on my phone. Lots of support for it online. I have tested many samples of uranium with it.
