I've installed more than a hundred of these in the last couple of years with FreePBX systems. They are inexspensive, easily configured, and the voice quality is very good. I've had very, very few problems with Grandstream devices and I've been installing various models since 2004.

I bought this to connect with a common voip provider and am glad that I went with this model. It is very configurable and works as advertised. I love the weather app which is a nice feature to have on my desk. This is one of the few "mainstream" phones which the voip service provider says has built-in protection against voip scanner attacks to only accept incoming calls from the connected service. Shortly after hooking it up I started getting phone calls from numbers like 100, 1001, etc. I was able to block these calls by turning on one feature in the phone's configuration. 5 stars. I wasn't sure which headset to go with this model, so I bought since it was cheap. It worked without needing an adapter and fits my needs.

Excellent device. Well engineered. Beautifully made. Delivered in record time (thanks Amazon). So why am I returning it tomorrow? Because what the VOIP providers don't tell you -- in my case RingCentral -- is that when you make a decision to buy a better featured, less expensive phone than they are offering, it becomes a second class citizen on their network. YOU have to manually Provision the device manually, and In Manual Provisioning, the Authorization information and SIP settings for the phone are entered manually in the phone's Menu or Web Interface, ONLY to register with the RingCentral servers. Manual Provisioning, for example, will not maintain communication for updates to the phone, only the registration with the service. It will not allow the phone updates from RingCentral's servers. It will not pull the firmware required for RingCentral's features. Users with manually provisioned phones will not be able to use Presence. And phones manually provisioned will not have softkeys for Paging and Intercom, which is a function I need for our remote gate opener, watched over by our compatible Grandstream CCTV camera. This is a crying shame as the phone is really great and just what I needed. Now I have to buy a phone that I don't want, pay more money than I need to, and wait for it to be delivered. So beware, don't do what I did, and check out the models your VOIP provided will auto-provision before buying. Hopefully for you, in your case it will include a Grandview GXP2140.LATER: When I was packing up the box to send back to Amazon, I found a card from Yay.com -- who support Grandstream fully -- and started I asked myself "why am I doing this?" Why was I going to return a super phone with all the functions and features I needed, at a super price, in order to accept a poor substitute and pay almost double? So I decided I wouldn't. I am going to take my new Grandstream GXP 2140 to Yay for a free trial, and hopefully live happily ever after. :-)

The GXP21xx line of phones really are a great value in a full-featured ip endpoint. I have just deployed 10 of this series. Two 2140, and 8 2130. They all work without a hitch, and have audio and build quality rivaling much more expensive endpoints.

Phone is great, even tells you the weather. Easy setup, like the new grand stream interface. Had an old grand stream phone and this is way better. My employees love the viewing angle of the screen almost from any angle. Plus customized the wall paper with our logo on it. Makes them feel like they had a custom phone for them.

I use this with a VOIP company on the web (begins with Nex). The phone itself is much cheaper than the other models in its class. Took about 10 min from opening the box to having it fully set up by tech support. If you are running this on a home network be sure that it has a direct line to the modem and do not send it through multiple connections as the call quality will suffer. The sound quality is amazing for this price range. The only complaints I have heard are that the headset goes silent when I am not speaking (a plus) when the phone is on speakerphone. Speakerphone quality exceeds expectations on a daily basis. The handset is also comfortable. The one star taken away is for the screen saver. I wish that the phone would default to a black screen when not in use and have a standby light (blue) instead of the screen saver. That is a minor gripe though and certainly doesn't affect the quality of the handset beyond aesthetics.

This is an excellent phone for the money. I find the audio quality to be excellent. The web interface is straight-forward and comprehensive. It has a number of nice features, like the ability to pair with my cellphone via Bluetooth. I'm using it with a FreePBX 2-line setup and a Vonage business account. It's been completely reliable, customizes nicely for my system and has little perks such as the ability to use my own wallpaper, and have my local weather displayed on the home screen. Documentation is clear and extensive. I'm so pleased with it that I'm planning to add the 6-line version of this phone, the 2160.

Ive been testing this phone for 2 weeks and it's an amazing deal for the price.Screen is beautiful. User interface is very similar to cisco phones which makes it quick to teach people that are used to cisco phones.Stand is fairly basic and cheap but does have 2 angles you can prop the phone up at and should last the life of the phone easily.Configuration is all through a browser which is fine for me as a small business. I am not sure if grandstream has any easier ways to setup many of these phones at the same time which would probably matter for larger companies.Built in weather, stocks, and currency are easily accessible and look great on the screen. I disabled all but weather though because Id rather the end user not bother me to change their stocks / or waste bandwith updating those modules. One thing I have not figured out is If you program some of the line keys to just be speed dial keys it does not show a description / label on the screen next to the key. I am probably doing something wrong, or should just buy the expansion module if I want speed dials.Plenty of ring tone options, though the ringer volume only goes up to about 60% as loud as a cisco 7960. If you need the ring to be heard 100-200 feet away this phone would not be a good choice, but for an executives office it is plenty loud.

The phone itself does not live up to expectations:* The quality of the plastic on the phone is poor. Compared to a Cisco SPA504g, this phone feels very cheap.* The audio quality is awful! This is inexcusable for a phone. There is TONS of hissing/static on this phone - and when i use my identically configured Cisco SPA504g, there is no static and the call quality is noticeably better. Some good things:* Web interface is excellent* I am using the phone with a UCM6102 GrandStream PBX; the phone autoconfigured itself when using the "zero config" feature on the PBX. Could not have been easier to set up* Very large color screen with excellent resolution; looks really nice* 2x Gigabit LAN ports on the back* Price pointAll in all, i will not be purchasing GrandStream phones for myself or my clients in the future. Poor audio quality is the first and last thing you need to know about these phones.
