This works so well! My family has fallen in love with Icelandic yogurt (Skyr). Rather than paying a small fortune for little tubs, I wanted to see if I could make my own. It’s so easy with this bag! Heat a gallon of milk, stir in the cultures, let it ferment, then strain it in this bag until it’s the right consistency. It takes half the time using this bag versus the usual strainer with cheesecloth. 2 1/2 - 3 hours vs recommended 5-6. I end up with 2 quarts of delicious Skyr in 8-9 hours.

This is an absolutely awesome bag for draining whey from homemade yogurt. I actually love it! LOL It really makes draining my homemade yogurt so much easier than using cheese cloth. Size is good for the amount of yogurt I make. I use 52 ounces of milk and that amount of yogurt fits well in the bag. It works extremely well and is easy to clean under warm water and hang to dry. I am very happy with this purchase.

Have used for making greek yogurt - perfect fabric density and material. Sized to fit traditional colander. I've purchased a second for a family member. MADE IN CHINA, kinda blows the blah blah back story...

Great quality, easy to clean and strains really well with hanging or putting into a strainer. So much better than cheese cloth! The perfect size for my needs.

It's awesome to have something I can wash and reuse for straining yogurt. The cheesecloth I bought was a mess to use and I just didn't feel good using it touching my food! This little gem is great and it fits right over my strainer, even right over the handles, it fits snug I love the loop to hang from and the fact that for even easier cleaning, the seams are on the outside! And it comes in a nice silicone bag to keep it in! Very happy with this last minute decision to purchase! And it shipped quickly!

I made my first skyr and I purchased this item for straining. It worked so well. It fit right on my collander as advertised. It held the yogurt from a full gallon of milk. I was amazed how much whey there was and I didn’t have to squeeze the bag or anything. It was easy to rinse and wash.

Works exactly as advertised. Whey that comes off is totally clear. Fit it around a standard colander and drawstring made it snug. Highly recommend if you are making yoghurt.

This was an easy product to use with a colander to separate whey from my yoghurt and produced a firm Greek yoghurt. I also used it hung from its drawstring. It was a vast improvement from multiple layers of cheesecloth which I previously used. I recommend this product.

Works great for making and straining batches of home made yogurt to make nice thick greek style yogurt. Could also use for cottage cheese etc. Liked so much I got two.

This product works great as intended. I use this product to make my own Greek Yogurt from milk. I often use 1 entire gallon of milk to create the Greek Yogurt.Although this item is rated for 1 gallon of milk, I have found (after numerous Greek Yogurt batches) that the yogurt resulting from 1 gallon of milk overflows from the bag and it is extremely difficult to fit it all into the bag without a mess resulting.Although this strainer pouch cannot quite handle 1 gallon, it can handle slightly under. So I have found that by removing a couple of spoons of yogurt that I am able to fit most of a gallon into the pouch. After I fit all the yogurt into the pouch to strain, it only takes a few hours for Greek Yogurt to result. If you like Greek Yogurt more akin to the texture of the Greek Yogurts from stores you can strain for only 2 to 3 hours. But, for extra thick Greek Yogurt goodness, you can strain for even longer. (I think the longest I've strained for was 8 to 12 hours. It resulted in crazy thick Greek Yogurt). I do find that the extra long straining is not necessary since this strainer works well and strains whey out rapidly and efficiently.I also love that if you strain the yogurt a bit too much and it becomes a little too thick you can re-incorporate some of the strained whey to loosen the Greek yogurt. This strainer pouch strains CLEAR. So long as none of the yogurt spills over the pouch while trying to get everything into the bag, the strained whey will be clear as water (albeit, yellowish water). The resulting strained whey is not cloudy whatsoever and looks crystal clear. If you are unsure what to do with the excess whey you have, instead of dumping it down the drain or into the trash, you can use it in ways such as: a liquid in soups, a liquid in porridge, to soak beans/grains, to simply drink or blend into smoothies, etc.You might be wondering why you would want to use any of the leftover whey. The reason is that whey is extremely nutritious. Whenever we see products like whey protein, many people often think of an artificial product or a supplement as opposed to real food. Whey is real food. Whey protein is simply liquid whey that is dehydrated to leave only whey protein granules and not water. The whey granules are then processed in whatever facilities to remove as much remaining carbohydrates and fat as possible. But, regardless of removing any more carbs or fat, whey and liquid whey are both rich in protein, B vitamins, and minerals. Whey is simply a nutrient rich food byproduct that should not go to waste. Even if you cannot use all of your leftover whey, please try to use some.Anyway that is my full review. I 100% recommend this product as it works perfectly. The only caveat is that it falls slightly short of its 1 gallon rating. But it is very close! This is overall a great product. Not to mention that it can be used for more than just making Greek yogurt.

I have been looking for a cost-effective, easy way to strain the yogurt which I make in my Instant Pot. I usually use between 1/2 and 1 gallon of milk for each batch. Space in our refrigerator is at a premium, so large fixed-sized strainers can not always fit. I don't like using coffee filters because that is an unnecessary waste. Cheesecloth is messy and hard to clean. So, I bought the cloth version of this strainer pouch. When open wide, it fits over a medium-sized colander, the drawstring is pulled to tighten it, and that in turn is placed in a bowl. Alternatively, the pouch could be closed off with the drawstring and hung to drain. After a few hours, the yogurt can practically be rolled out of the bag and into a container. The amount of yogurt that is left in the cloth seems minimal and cleaning is easy with water and minimal soap. Once clean, the cloth version probably takes longer to dry than the synthetic version, but I like the idea of cloth. I am not in a hurry.I highly recommend this method of straining yogurt as less messy and requiring less refrigerator real estate.Addendum- May 21 2020:I placed an order for another of the cheesecloth strainer pouches. I find it is a challenge to get all of a gallon of yogurt into one pouch. It can be done, but I spill easily while trying. Nevertheless, this is a fine product, thoughtfully created and ideal for its use. I continue to recommend it highly.
