Product Description

21˚ PLASTIC STRIP ROUND HEAD FRAMING NAILER

GRTFR83 21˚ Plastic Strip Round Head Framing Nailer

The GRTFR83 is one of the most durable, yet lightweight framers on the market. Well balanced and weighing only 6.9 lbs., the GRTFR83 dramatically reduces user fatigue and easily fits between 16" OC studs.

Exclusive to Grip-Rite, the GRTFR83 features “True Drive" Technology, which actually recycles a portion of the air after each shot and reduces the amount of air needed for the next nail. In true RED System style, this reliably ensures a flush drive of the nail each and every time the tool is fired, while increasing the number of nails fired per compressor cycle.

The selectable trigger switches easily between sequential and bump fire modes and the Dual Loading System allows for loading strips of nails through the top or rear of the magazine, based on your preference. The heavy-duty, die-cast aluminum rotating rafter hook keeps your tool within easy reach and the included swivel fitting keeps bulky air hoses from weighing your tool down.

I like most everything about this nailer and the things I don't like aren't really what make it a great nailer. The weight and balance is good, heavy enough to use as a hammer lol. I like the short body but it does make it a bit robust in grith. Loading racks of nails in it correctly takes a couple times to figure out, the second rack has to sit just right on the first or it will not continue to feed to the second rack. Overall a great tool.

Lives up to the reviews on line. Nice weight and yet it drives the nails home, don't have to go back over with my hammer to set the nails.

I am the lead carpenter for a small remodeling company in southern Texas. I purchased this nail gun about a year ago after finding it on sale for $80. It has been a good gun until I had an issue with it about a week ago.The screw holes holding down the exhaust air deflector stripped, and I only found out when the deflector shot off the gun and hit me in the face. I have contacted Grip Rite about sending me a new head cap assembly for the gun, but it seems they want me to take it in to a service center for warranty repair. The downtime and time lost out of my day means that I will likely buy a new gun. This is my first time purchasing a Grip Rite nailer, and it will be my last.

I'm a framing contractor.bought this gun to try out.stick with the max nr88rh3.or old reliable hitachi nr83,its an ok backup.none of the guys use it as an everyday gun.the nose piece is a bit stiff and it fires just a millisecond slow compared to the max.the hook is easily bent.its not as bad as say a porter cable or senco but not worth buying again.

Really straight forward nail gun. Used it to frame and install shear wall sheathing. I've put over 2000 nails through it without any problem. Also worked well for toe nailing.

Nice and light. Strong framing hammer, punches nail heads into D.F. framing even when toe-nailing. Depth adjustment seem to work OK, although I had to turn down the line pressure to not over-set nails on sheeting. My one complaint is that there is no easy way to clear nail jams -- no access panel or detachable magazine to get access to jammed nails. Luckily nail jams do not happen often. It would be nice if the nail gun came with a case.
