I tried to use this on my acoustic, and did for months. But the fact that it was just ever so slightly off from the sound hole just kept bothering me. Not from putting it on weird either. Just never lined up right. Which was fine for a while until I tried to peel it back to try stretching it or something. But I ended up ruining it. That's completely on me. The not fitting I don't believe is. But, it definitely served it's role as a cool funky colored pickguard while I had it.

All you have to do is peel the back off and you have an instant cute keyguard for any guitar! Works for electric and acoustic and looks fantastic! If you want to switch it out? Just peel it off and put on another one! Definitely recommend for beginners and props for special occasions! 10/10 highly recommend!! 10/10 highly recommend!

This pick guard looks okay and would be fine on a guitar, but in the end it didn't match up to my husband's vision with the instrument he was thinking of using it on. It might come in handy in the future, of course.

This pick guard will replace an older (often abused) one, but I think I was hoping for something a bit more accurately cut and just surfaced, dyed leather. The laser holo patterned leather face does feel like it would endure for a while without showing scratches. I had misjudged the surface in the Amazon listing's pictures to believe that the written description of "pastel colors" just meant they had dyed the surface. There is no clear indication that the coloring is what it turned out to be. Alone, that would not be enough to down rate this. The cut, however, leaves a lot to be desired, especially around the guitar tone hole. It isn't just that it doesn't fit well with my guitar (an Ovation roundback), but that it has badly irregular edges and curves that wander. Again, alone, this might have not warranted a reduced rating.Taken together, however, I can not rate this above average (3 stars). The idea of a leather pick guard is great. I wanted this to be a respectable replacement for the old pick guard on my acoustic. I find the poor cut and laser holo metallic sheen together to be unacceptable for me and I have removed it from my guitar. It is certainly not what I would recommend as a pick guard for someone performing in public with a quality instrument.

I like the overall look of this pick guard; I like leather and it would look good on a guitar. The edges are not as smooth as I would like. The semi-circle to go against the opening is not shaped close enough to round so it looks a little off when I just laid it on the guitar.I will see if I can tighten up the edges before I would install this.Just not sure what to cut it with, but I would not use it as is.Again, if the maker would get the cuts smoother and cleaner, this would be a winner. Most guitarists prize their instruments and only want a perfect cut and fit, this is not acceptable out of the box.

Set your expectations appropriately to the price point. Mine arrived with some hairline scratches on it already, I figured "hey, it's a pick guard, it's going to get scratched anyway", but still not great. The cutting/shape isn't super precise, it looks a little sloppy. It's made of a thin, flexible top layer, with another adhesive layer below it. I did make one adjustment after I first started applying it, and that went okay. A week after putting it on, I decided I'd prefer it on another guitar. Well, the two layers no longer wanted to stay together, and the top layer came off by itself, leaving the adhesive layer, which I then peeled off, but it's left some residue behind for me to clean up.So if you decide you do like yours and won't need to remove it, that's not really a problem. I didn't notice any specific tonal differences playing with it on. But the fact that the shape isn't well cut-out, yeah, that's just not great.
