About this item

  • Built for Trucks & SUVs – LTS brake pads provide superior stopping power for light trucks, SUVs, and vans up to 1 ton.
  • Stronger Braking Performance – Delivers 20–40 percent more stopping power than stock pads, even under heavy loads or towing.
  • Enhanced Fade Resistance – Ferro-Carbon friction material ensures consistent braking at 100–700 degree temperatures.
  • Low Dust & Long-Lasting – Designed for excellent pad and rotor life with minimal dust output.
  • Smooth & Reliable Control – Offers a strong initial bite and balanced braking performance, whether hot or cold.

Hawk Performance has applied their severe-duty brake pad friction technology to the braking demands of trucks and SUVs. Heavier vehicles with larger brake systems are more likely to experience higher temperatures, requiring a brake pad that has excellent heat dissipation characteristics. The new LTS (Light Truck and SUV) Brake Pad Compound utilizes Hawk Performance’s established and proven Ferro-Carbon formulation to provide superior stopping power for full-sized light trucks, SUVs and vans without noise and dust.

Great stopping power but squeal worse than any brakes I have ever used. I kept them on for several weeks but couldn’t deal with the squeal and had to replace them with a different brand of pads.

When you're on a budget or not quite enough for a bug brake system or kit: These things are the next best thing. They stop better, fade WAY less, create minimal dust & keep you safer. Whether racing or hauling a heavy trailer-these are top shelf!

Recommended , Best brakes I have had on my 2002 2500 HD ,after 650,000 miles the truck stops great now , just looked to see how they look after 22,000 miles and still at 90% +

At this time I cannot rate the product. The Hawk website shows these as REAR pads for a 2003 Chevy 25000HD (Duramax). They do not fit the rears--maybe the fronts, but I am not replacing the fronts. The lesson is: do not trust the Hawk website for application. When I get the right pads I will change the rating to reflect the product.

I have had these brakes on all of my trucks. But for some reason, this set squeaks bad. I mean, its like a school bus on a dry day..most of the time. In wet weather its fine. I called Hawk to replace them and they said they would but no one ever sent anything or got back to me, They do perform as they state, but I cannot deal with the squeaking being all the driving I do...Probably wont get these again.

With right at 200k miles on the odometer it was time for new brakes. The rotors didn't really show significant wear, so I just swapped in new pads. I've had them on the truck for a few days now, and they are pretty impressive. Under normal driving conditions they perform just like the stock pads, and grab really well under heavy braking. I haven't towed anything yet, but I bet that's where these pads will really shine.I have the Hawk red pads on my Z06 Corvette as well, and noticed something about how they react that is consistent on the truck as well. The initial "bite" as you step onto the pedal (normal driving) is almost identical to the stock pads; not touchy, but not soft. Then, as you hold the brake pedal constant the pads begin to stop better. The braking performance acts like you're slightly pushing the pedal more as you slow down, but this is an effect of the pad's stopping power increasing, not the pedal movement. It's not disconcerting or annoying at all. It's more perceivable in the 3000lb car than the 6000lb truck, but it does occur on both vehicles. Also of note, I got on the brakes pretty hard in the truck just to try out the new pads and actually locked up the front right tire briefly. The ABS kicked in pretty quick and stopped the shenanigans, but I was impressed that these new pads could clamp down so well. I have 305/70R16 (32x12.5) tires on the truck, so that's a lot of contact patch! So, for the money and the results, I have to say I'm very happy with these pads on my truck so far. I'll try to update the review after I tow something heavy enough to judge their performance there. I have heard they really shine in that situation (forums, etc.), but I want to see for myself before I write it down in the review.
