DO NOT BUY. When I opened the box, the smell was unbearable, giving me a headache from the fumes. A strong petroleum/gasoline smell, it just reeks of it. The apron, had a car tire odor that was not that strong, and faded over time, but the Thyroid collar is indeed toxic, it still makes me ill to smell it, and a headache ensues.

It is large, as a previous reviewer noted, but not too large to interfere with a mammogram. I'm glad to have it for dental Xrays and mammograms. The only improvement might be a removable cover.

I bought this to protect myself from any radioactivity after bringing my cat home from her I-131 treatment. Easily velcroed. Worth buying for peace of mind.
