Review for Gate Wheels with Side Brake Spring Loaded Gate Casters for Farm Yard and More Max Load Capacity 220lbs.A few things to note:The installation instructions on this product's page are a bit different than the paper instructions included with the product. Specifically, there is an extra step if your ground is not perfectly level. (See pic) The photo states that you need to apply downward pressure to the wheel before installing it on uneven ground.This wheel can go over slightly uneven ground. It is not made to go uphill or to go over large dips in the ground. Per the product description, "Please mind that it could not be used on some deep pits or extremely uneven ground."This gate wheel is made for wood gates. There are better versions for installation on chain link fence gates or on gates with metal poles.The wheel is larger than you think.The wheel has a 200 pound weight limit.The wheel is well made, but the product instructions need to include additional information regarding putting downward pressure on the wheel during the installation process.

I ordered this for a small wooden picket gate, and I think the 4” size might be a bit of overkill for my specific project. The wheel seems to be very sturdy and made of quality materials. I liked that it has a spring and works on uneven ground. My gate starts out about 1” off the ground and then starts to drag when about halfway open. I’m hoping this will help. Have not installed yet because it’s is winter here but the installation instructions are very simple. The bolts are very long at 4”, perfect for a heavy duty gate that this is intended for. Wheel can bear 220lbs per manufacturer.
