The circumference of your palm should be measured at its widest point. Recommended size is an indication. Hands are different and some models have a tighter fit than others.

Wow do these gloves run small. My hand measures a size 8 and a size 10 is still too small. Very frustrating to have to keep retuning gloves to try and find the correct size. I finally gave up. At this price and quality they need to do better.

These are the BEST gloves for traveling to cold places!!! I went to Northern Norway and Svalbard in mid-February in -30F temps at some points and they kept my hands warm and cozy the whole trip! Hestra is a well loved Swedish brand so it made sense bringing these to the Arctic! Plus, being able to open the mittens to use your fingers to take photos, or use your phone, was CRUCIAL during the trip. I didn't have to take off my mittens and got to keep my hands warm. Plus they have a little magnet to keep the finger "flap" from...flapping around lol. There are also loops between the fingers to make taking them off easier. Expensive, but so worth it.

I wanted these mittens for winter photography and they work perfectly. They are high quality (GoreTex membrane, etc.) and very comfortable to wear. Size 11 fit my large hands perfectly.

Great glove for staying warm and being multi-functional. Downside was the elastic wristband. Super small. I have small hands and wrists, but these were too tight. Had my child, who wears a medium child in Columbia gloves and she said the same. Mitt fit great, but wrist was too tight. Opted for a hestra gauntlet in the same size. Fit great, because wrist was half elastic and velcro, so more forgiving.

These mitts are superb. They are comfortable to about -4, and are so good to either flip open to use a phone etc, or to tie laces. Another great use of this feature is to use to temporarily cool down without taking the gloves off. I know they will last a long time but if I lost them I would buy another pair immediately.
