The part showed up new, clean, & on time. It appears sturdy and machined well enough. For me this was an attempt to upgrade my mill from a drill chuck to be able to use ER-32 collets. I was concerned that this piece would be too heavy for a JT-33 to do milling. I was correct.I used a torch to heat up the fitting and used a rubber mallet to set it. The chuck would pop itself off of the JT-33 after a few short minutes of milling on 1018 steel. The same thing happened to the chuck that came stock. I do believe the fault rests on the capacity of what a JT-33 can handle on a system without coolant and how high of an RPM I work at on steels. Heat is not machining's friend. And due to its size a JT-33 cannot get rid of it easily. The heat would push up very quickly. This leads to failure.I gave this a shot to avoid removing the stock MT#2 taper from my rig. After this experiment I went ahead and did an MT#2 to ER-32 collet. I have 0 issues now. This component has potential. It was just unfortunately not prepared for what I was going to be using it for. This is perhaps best used in a system with coolant or where the hardest material being milled at high rpm is aluminum.
