Put on a 454 bbc. Crackles alot. Weld on the muffler broke within 3 months. Do not recommend buying, a lot better options.

This muffler is awesome. It was exactly what I was looking for, not too loud and a nice deep tone. Got rid of all the raspy tones from my headers.

I put this muffler on a stock, 2009, 9-7x Saab (just a much nicer Trailblazer) with 5.3L Chevy v-8. It has 3.73 gears and 4 speed auto.The system retained it cat. converters AND the factory resonator. I simply cut out old muffler and welded in this 3" Hooker.Sound can be a very "subjective" experience but one thing that isn't is interior drone - and this muffler served it up.What sold me on muffler originally was this info from their website: Resonance Chamber and Tuning Tube Cancels Unwanted Frequencies and Amplitudes (No annoying tin can sound or drone at cruising speed)All I can say is it didn't. As a result - I am replacing with a 30" (35" OA) chambered muffler for small company in MI called HighFlo Performance. The owner even called me back when I emailed them about interior resonance/drone. He explained the way these chambered mufflers work is the fist "crimp" sends back the highest dBA, then the next crimp does next level, etc. leaving only the nice rumble at end. I hope to have it on in the next week or so....and to make it worse - to my surprise - this particular Hooker muffler was Made in China!! Doh!

Very quiet inside the cabin with a nice bark outside. Seems to have just the right back pressure. Very comfortable ride inside for long trips. Installed on a 2003 Suburban.
