As advertised. Worked great for covering wound gauze pads under an ace bandage.

After a recent foot surgery, I came home wearing a boot. Once the original dressing was removed, there was a lot of play within the boot, and my foot was getting bruised. This soft cotton packing allowed me to wrap my fragile foot, which had a big incision on it in a way that it was much more comfortable in the orthopedic boot that I need to wear for the next six weeks

The 4 inch wide wrap added a soft protective layer to the various layers of gauze and ace bandage that the doctor wanted on my fractured ankle/foot/lower leg after the huge splint-based wrap was removed. The splint had led to extremely irritated skin and the doctor wanted the area rewrapped on a daily basis for a while due to the severe irritation. The cotton wrap helped to make me more comfortable. It also added another layer of protection from accidentally bumping my foot on something.

These are great gauze for giving under foot protection for toe amputation, and can totally protect and insulate them from the environment with only one roll for the toe to arch area thanks to being six inches. As a sidebar, with toe injuries since you may need to put more weight on uninjured heels, be sure to wrap them as well with 3 or 4 inch gauze (to make the turn around curve of ankle part of foot) so they don't get injured as a function of weight shifting to protect the injured toe and arch behind toes. These gauze's are also brilliant for leg edema due to liver or heart dropsy and since legs with this condition need pressure, these are a good leg moisture absorber for under whatever you use for your ankle to right under knee. The six inch size reduces the number of wraps you will need and make the process faster. This way you keep the moisture off your elastic socks or Velcro pressure devices. Possible improvements: Inclusion of a strong half inch paper roll of tape with product. And, since chronic use of gauze dries skin out terribly, something like Amlactin, a muratic acid product with moisturizer to remove dead skin, and moisten skin packaged with it in certain bundles, for instance a three (3) bundle might be a box of 6 inch gauze, box of 4 inch or 3 inch gauze and Amlactin or similar product. Bundled these products would be snarfed up by chronic foot/leg edema and pain sufferers. Good luck. This is a great 6 inch gauze, i highly recommend as a stand alone if that is what you seek. I know from personal experience of having the above mentioned conditions for 16 years and have loads of experience using different gauze's and price points to value. This item is a value for price too. (Of course, use of any medical product is best when your physician is on your team helping you with selection of treatments, even over-the-counter wound care treatments.)
