Ok, I bought this from a big box 7 years ago. I used it to install plastic edging for a rock bed. It did bend as the pic shows but was still functional. Fast forward to now and had to bury 125’ of line voltage landscape wiring in the backyard. Looked at the tool and thought why not. I was able to dig a narrow trench and with a blunt tool push the line down 6” and “stitch” the trench back together with a mallet. I swear you can barely make out where it was buried. I had used a shovel and hoe for a lot of landscape light this past fall and this really was 10th the work with better results. If there wasn’t a bend, I’d give it 5 stars.

Small edger blade. To light weight build.

This is an OK edger at best, it will easiy bend or break with hard ground, I experience it first had. I purchased this to replace one I borrowed from neighbor, it bent on me and the weld at the base began to crack. I higlhy advaise buying and use a high qulity square shovel for edging.

The reviews are right. Should have listened. It's a light duty tool at best. The shaft did bend somehow. I also have the green hound dog edger and it is way beefier and worth the money. This yellow one is not. I use these to install low voltage landscape lighting wiring in yards. They work well for that.

Carbon-footprint super-tool! My electricity-powered edger died recently and after a month of mental calculation, I went manual with this border edger tool. Rolling out this tool is a cinch compared to the long electrical lines for electric edger. I timed the work to be when the soil is quite moist so cutting thru thatch and grass was relatively easy (applying body weight onto this tool). My electric powered edger lasted 6 years -- this manual device should last a whole lot longer. Noise pollution has been reduced, too, along with a much better carbon footprint. I'm quite pleased!!

I own a new home and loved this for creating edged beds around the house, but the second season I went to use it and the weld at the joint between the head and the handle broke...disappointing, returned it to HD and got the "90 day warranty too bad, so sad story", will not buy Ames again...
