Our old globe broke and we went without for a long time - just a bare bulb! This has a newer, more interesting shape than the globe. It gives the fan a new, updated look. Fits old (nearly 40 years) Hunter fan perfectly.Great purchase!

What you see is what you get. Fits most standard US ceiling fixtures like ceiling fans, etc. This 10" size can accommodate slightly oversized light bulbs such as high-wattage varieties that have larger dimensions than a typical 100-watt bulb. Don't drop it, because it's made of glass and it will break. But if you do, you can order another one of these to replace it.

The old "schoolhouse" style shade on one of my apartment's Hunter ceiling fans cracked and needed replacement. This is the new equivalent. It's similar in style, although not exactly the same shape as the original one. But close enough, and it perfectly fits the fixture. It was also well packed at the factory to protect it during transport.That said, the glass isn't really high quality. It's typical "Made in China" glass, with various visible imperfections. However, from a distance of several feet, you are unlikely to see them. But considering it is much more expensive than generic replacement shades, I expected better quality glass.

Excellent quality and fit. I woud buy the product again if the need arises. Actually seemed to fit better than the original.
