I received this VHF marine radio quickly. The radio has good audio which helps to overcome a noisy environment and is light weight. This isn’t an inexpensive handheld, and for the money, it should have at least come with an alkaline battery tray as backup. Currently, the battery tray is an additional $25 and even if you purchased the tray, the radio is limited to only a 1-watt output using alkaline batteries. I bought this ICOM 37 because I can’t find a replacement rechargeable battery for my older (2004) Uniden Atlantis 250, but the Atlantis came with an alkaline battery tray and gives a full 5-watt output.
