The red insulators were obviously much more flexible than the black insulators on both pairs I received. Even the more flexible red covers were too stiff for my fingers to open the alligator clips more than maybe 1/3 way open. I could not even budge the black clips open at all without using two hands! The attachment to a standard 2mm diameter probe was OK.

these literally snap on the end groove of a pointed probe.alligator has one front tooth with nice clearance / alignment.
