Making the conversion: converting the Slash 4x4 to the scalpel speed-run vehicle requires body, bumper conversion and tires and wheels are highly recommended. The assembly is simple and takes only minutes to complete. First, remove stock bumper Assembly and replace with the newly acquired speed-run accessories and foam bumper. Make small changes to suspension set-up to limit down and up travel per instructions. Detail, Paint and trim scalpel body. Prep, mount and glue jconcepts 2.8” blocks tires onto 2.8” rule wheels and secure to the vehicle. Locate, mark and ream the body mount locations and drop scalpel body into place. I was very impressed when I received this item. It's apparent that it's designed to provide much better protection over the stock or any other aftermarket bumper out there for the slash 4x4.I would recommend this to any slash owner out there. I feel that with this bumper and the hot racing brand roll cage (the other brand on Amazon has welds instead of screwing together and they break) your truck will pretty much be able to take abuse much better than it would with stock equipment.You don't need to convert to the scalpel body to benefit from this bumper. It's solid and looks bad a**. The only thing I didn't like is that it doesn't ship with stainless steel screws. I will be making a trip to ACE to replace the rust prone screws it ships with.

This so cool. It makes it to be a whole new RC. It's extremely durable. I've bumped it quit a few times and it's still great.
