The good is the look and that it's pretty rugged, would fit great in a garage or an old basement or a young kid's first boombox/radio. Of course if you're eyeballing this your no doubt looking at the fact that it has a tape player & recorder. Nothing wrong there, it's exactly what you want. The bad is that it sounds like something someone stuffed extra large headphone speakers into. Really, just look at the speakers for a minute. Rugged and cool looking, sure, but the speakers are tiny for a boombox this size. They should be about 50% bigger. Ok, that might offset the size and look, but that could also have been accommodated during research and development of this. At the end of it, crank it up and it sounds like hell. Listen at moderate to low volumes and it's barely mediocre. Here you get a well-known brand, a cool look, lot's of features, quality all-around, and even a good price too. Thing is you can spend about 50% more and get something just as cool looking, just as feature packed and sounds at least 4 times as good as this. I guess it'd be ok for a young kid's first boombox as they really wouldn't care much, but for anyone with any standards, you can easily do better, much better.

At first it all worked fine, but about a year later one of the buttons could not be pressed anymore and had issues until it was fixed. Some time later the radio stopped working as well. After opening it up, I saw some very unusual and poor design choices in how some of the internal electronics connect to each other, or to the buttons. Overall disappointing in the end

The first radio I purchased had one of the cassette controll buttons pop off and fall down inside of the unit within two days of use. The replacement was shipped fast and sending defective unit back was was a breeze. Within a week of use, same issue. I took the unit apart and fished the button out,and then put a dab of super glue on the slot of the button where it slips over the metal prong that holds it in place. It is a nice radio for the price ,and was purchased for someone elderly that still listens to cassettes and cant comprehend new tech. The cassette controll buttons should be fastened in a more secure way.
