For some reason Deere installed a male hose fitting on the deck of my mower which is totally incompatible with normal hose quick connects. Go figure.Ordered this and it fits perfectly.

I bought this to replace the old and leaking connection on my John Deere Lawn Tractor. The old one was leaking do to its' advanced age (a lot like my age). The old one leaked where it is screwed onto the water supply (garden hose), and the threading inside the connection had been damaged.The new connector is EXACTLY like the OEM that came on the tractor when it was purchased. It is identical regarding color, shape, and even the inside washer seal. It fits the nipple on the tractor deck perfectly and doesn't leak a drop where attached to the hose. installs on the deck with a simple push and resulting click.

I moved my John Deere riding mower forward a little while washing the undercarriage, and ran over the hose which snapped the hose connection off. Little did I know that it was only a plastic quick connect I broke. So I figured I had to replace the whole deck wash thing, only to find it was just this simple little inexpensive plastic part. I learned on Amazon that it was a quick connect, something I had never known or used. I always struggled to connect and disconnect my hose. Now it is easy. I learned by trial and error, before buying this part, that other standard quick connects won't work. So if you are fortunate enough to have only damaged this part, and not the metal nipple that it attaches to, buy this, because it will fix your problem.Also, please know that John Deere makes special Bagging Blades that work far better than the standard blades that come on your mower. The Bagging Blades have a greater lift and fan-like force that throws clippings and leaves out your discharge chute with much greater force, keeping it from clogging. The blades are about $50 a set, and way worth it. These blades also are the only thing to use with a grass catcher/bagger attachment. Many dealers don't know this and don't tell you, neither do they carry these blades. Without them the baggers just don't work right. So maybe by reading this you will learn, like I did, that there is a super solution for preventing clogs and also making the baggers work right. So maybe this review will help at least one person learn how to overcome a common problem.
