I added this to my camper because the lights were just too bright in the evening. This switch works well. It is not as adjustable as a home unit. You don't have as many levels. You have full on, then almost off. The levels in the middle is acceptable enough but not finite positions.

I have been looking high and low for a switch to dim my Jayco camper LED awning lights. I've ordered and returned at least 3 of them. This one was the one! It works great and was super easy to install!

Great looking switch that simply doesn't work.Some reviewers mentioned ground hassles with this. I tried every possible combination of wiring and even opened it up to check for circuit damage. The most I ever got was about two volts. I checked the setting so many times. Everything else was correct. The only mistake was expecting this to work.I bought this months ago in prep for installing it in the RV. Now I can't even return it. A dimmer like this should be simple an straight forward. This one does not work in any context.Could not even find

Did not work with my LED lights in my Open Range RV, makes light flicker and I only have Low and High nothing in between. Product does not says how many LED lights or which brands and did not come with installation instructions.

The build quality of the dimmer switch is quite good and it perfectly matches the other switches in my RV. However, unless your ground (white) wire from the light fixture(s) you are trying to dim runs back to the switch location this dimmer won't work.Most RV's only have the power wires running to the switch and route all their ground wires to a central ground bus bar (near the power inverter). So unless you want to disconnect all the ground wires from the bus and test them individually to find the one that runs to your fixture, and then run that ground wire back to the switch, you are out of luck. I did try to run a ground wire from the dimmer switch back to the ground bus but this didn't work with this switch.I called JR Products several times and Chris in service was great at trying to help me solve my problem. After several failed attempts he got me connected with an engineer from the manufacturer who makes their dimmers, American Technology Components Inc., and they explained the problem. They make a similar dimmer called a high-side LED dimmer that works using a ground wire running from the dimmer to any ground wire or the shared ground bus. I had to order this switch directly from American Technology Components since JR Products and Amazon did not carry this dimmer. I can verify this high-side dimmer does work but it took a lot of investigative work and tinkering before I finally solved the problem.It would be really helpful if JR Products would make this clear in it's product literature so others don't end up wasting all the time and money I had to invest.Sorry to those of you who aren't interested in all the technical details but I know there are some people out there who will understand the issue and can work around it as I have.
