The product description claims that "These are upgraded studs made in Japan,...". I remain to be convinced. Everything on the packaging points to this item being Made/Manufactured in China for Kaish Music (see photo of back of packet). I bought these on a whim but wonder if I should have just bought the genuine replacement Gotoh GE1996T items (which were actually less expensive).After some deliberation, I returned these studs (my first Amazon return in over a decade of purchases). Kaish Music contacted me and I have been given a full refund

Made very sturdy I love the brass mount and the steel post is very sturdy itself but the best part is the locking nut in the middle of it,adjust your height used the small allen wrench provided and tighten it up and your post is locked in place. excellent product!
