When you use it at 16mm, you can see the filter at the corners. I bought a Polar Pro Cir Polarizer and didn't want to pay for the Mag Lock. It was a great idea and the magnet holds well.

I ordered this Kase 82mm DIY Adapter Kit to keep in my camera bag.I own some Kase magnetic filters and I have to say that they are a joy to use. Instead of trying to screw a filter onto your lens, you just hold it up to your lens and it will be held on with magnetic force. If you've ever tried to screw a filter onto your lens while wearing gloves or under conditions of darkness, you can appreciate how this magnetic attachment system would be useful.I have plenty of 82mm lenses (that's the largest filter size any of my lenses require) and most of them are not magnetic. This kit lets me convert any filter so that it can be attached magnetically. One half of this kit screws into a lens (or, if your lens takes filters smaller than 82mm, a step up ring) and the other half screws into your 82mm filter. If you have multiple filters, you can either purchase multiples of this kit or switch the magnetic adaptor from one filter to another. It's far easier to do that (even with gloves or in darkness) than it is to screw a filter into your lens.I really think that this kit deserves 5 stars, but I find the price to be bordering on ludicrous considering what the kit consists of. Still, there don't seem to be any competitors to Kase, so I guess they can simply charge whatever they think the market will bear.

I’ve been using this to convert some of my special effects filters into magnetic filters. It’s a great way to improve the usefulness of older kit.
