This filter protects against laser damage to your camera. This is important because a laser can damage your sensor when shooting concerts. It also reduces yellow cast from sodium vapor lights. It's a niche filter but if you need it, it works. Kase uses a magnetic attach mechanism which is unique.

I bought this to use with my £3k mirrorless camera while recording video footage at a night club / rave, where they use lots of high powered lasers. It definitely gives me a lot of peace of mind. At one or two points in the night a laser fired directly down the camera lens/sensor, and it appears no dead pixels have formed, so I'm feeling confident. (Although I'm still obviously trying to avoid direct laser exposure to the camera (or my eyes!) as much as possible.Hard to ever know for sure if this is going to protect it completely- but the demonstration videos online by the inventor give me a lot of confidence (he demonstrates destroying a camera sensor without the filter, and then shows you with the filter- how it's unaffected, and also shows with a temperature sensor, the drop in laser intensity temp with the filter.) Considering there is nothing else like this on the market, it feels this came at the perfect time for me!
