I've replaced several of these control boards over the years. It's just a cost of owning this type of water softener. They usually last 3-4 years. But this replacement board failed after less than 100 days. I've reached out to the seller, but it's been four days with no response. I will order direct from Kenmore in the future, and I'd recommend the same.NOTE: I'm 100% sure the problem is with this board and not another issue because I have an extra board that I keep around just for this purpose (diagnosing). Right now my softener is running just fine on that older, extra board that I have temporarily installed.

This is my 3rd circuit board over the life of my Whirlpool water softener. This latest one, has a silicone covering over the board, front and back, which should protect it from the salt dust, which is how both of the others have died. Previous boards, the salt dust works its way onto the components of the board, and eats it alive. Hopefully this one lasts longer.

First one was a dud. They immediately shipped another. Now my water softner works great.

This does appear to be the OEM part. It is an exact match and fit, and it was quickly and easily programmed to match the model I have. No problems at all, and it has now been in use for a couple months.
